People dont shout 'Pop me' either in a pop band solo. Because they want to be 'popped'.

It makes sense to me, as he is stating its a rock band, where 2 instruments are going to play solos.

Show me one song where the singer shouts "rock band". I'll show you hundreds where the singer says "rock me".

Like I said, "rock band" makes no sense. You don't tell the band to rock, that would be just stupid.

You don't play in a band do you?

You yell out the name of the guy you want to do the solo. If you have many people who can solo, the leader calls the shots and tells who gets to play the solo this time. It's not stupid, it's how it works.

Yelling "rock band" while playing with one is stupid.

Ok, maybe Jon is sayin' "Rock me", but it would make sence if he said "Rock, band". Jon don't have to say Richie before the solo, because it's clear that he's the one who's gonna take the solo...
