I do agree with that. I think that the fanclub should set it up so that if the band is playing multiple shows in one city then the fanclub members that are local can choose fanclub seats for one night and allow the tickets for the other nights to be sold in a fanclub only presale. Like maybe if the tickets are being sold through ticket master, they could set up a system that would require a password posted only on BS and also a membership number to prevent scalpers or some idiot posting the password elsewhere on the net. Actually, if they had a way to set that up it might be a good idea for all fanclub tickets, now that I think about it. I do think that people who live in states not generally visited by the band should have some chance at fanclub tickets. I live in Iowa now, but I am moving back home to Mississippi at the end of this week. Here I got Des Moines, Omaha and Chicago all within 5 hours of me one way, but down there the closest would be Atlanta at 6 hours one way or Memphis or Houston at 8 hours one way. I didn't have my membership before the first shows went onsale so I didn't get Fanclub seats for those shows. And I am moving so I didn't go to Chicago for this summer. I got into the FC trip and I sure hope it's worth the money! LOL

You're preaching to the choir! It's like the people who run the fan club have no concept of geography! Bon Jovi fans don't live only in metropolitan areas. It's like they don't know or care that there are thousands of fans who have no alternative but traveling if they are to see the band. Maybe they're so wealthy that the concept of cost of traveling is lost on them. It's financially impossible for most people to be able to book a flight on a few days' notice to fly somewhere to buy tickets and then also fly back for the concert. They don't consider that people have to take days off work to drive to the closest and then (sometimes) more time to go to the show. We feel overlooked here in the USA... what about people south of the equator?

It's amazing that the fan club of one of the largest touring acts in the USA has one of the most inefficient ticketing policies in the world. Much smaller clubs offer better programs that treat ALL fans EQUALLY.

Off topic--you're moving to Mississippi? Cool.

Another example would be the 4 concerts in Toronto in January. Does anyone know if there were fanclub tickets available for all 4 shows?

couldnt care less to be honest, she's got nothing else to do, since she's be filthy rich for the last 15 years.

its easy for people to go easy on BS simply because its supposedly run by jons mum (awww indeed)

however its the club people pay for, and upon comparison with other major acts fan clubs (U2, Sting for example) it really does look shabby.

I'm not a fanclub member anymore (and wasn't in January) but that's what bugs me about BSWJBJ. A handful of Canadian fanclub members got to get great seats to 4 shows (yes, Torontonians I am jealous!), and the rest of the Canadian fanclub members, who had to travel to see a show, had to use Ticketmaster or the brokers.

I do hope if they start a new fanclub it will treat all members equally.

There are a lot of pros and cons to a corporate owned fanclub which is who owns U2, Aerosmith, etc. of course, that company is also in Chapter 11 but that's another matter. I'm not sure I see Jon turning the fanclub over to a corporate entity but I guess we shall see. I would also like to see some sort of online ticketing feature for those that are geographically challenged.

Not that I know Jon, or been on the Backstage website, but it seems for a person who is meant to be a "businessman" he sure does have a lot of complaints about a fanclub. Keeping in mind you can't please everyone.

But you would think if he had any business sense at all, then a lot of these issues should have been addressed.

Jon was not involved with the fanclub accept for writing the quarterly letters. It really was his mama's deal and he let her handle it. And though the fanclub membership was fairly large at nearly 14K worldwide, in the scheme of things that really is a very small percentage of total fans. Some artists like Bruce Springsteen, don't even bother to have a fanclub.
