i love Jovi pre-crush its those songs that remind me of youth and growing up and having something to beleive in.
If they never made another album after These Days it wouldnt have bothered me. The quality of the first 6 albums is more than some bands pack into 20 albums.
The quality was never going to be as high especially after 25 years.
I like a handful of songs from crush and after that.
I could make a 15 song great album from the last 4 albums but I still love the band. Theres not many bands i get excited about new material from but Jovi are up the top of that list. Its credit to them that I still want more albums even though I know they wont be as good as the first 6 after nearly 21 years of listening to them.

Hey been a while since I was on here but obviously The Circle is coming so it's time to get in the mood again!

I often choose to listen to BJ albums, because they are great music I can relate to, and the instrumental work (on pre-00s albums) is organic and evokes feeling. In all the 00s albums I feel, with a couple of exceptions, the music is too synthetic. The meaning of the songs is there but I don't feel the band shine through as they did before.

I feel Bounce actually has the best songs overall from the four albums we've had so far this decade. I think a lot of you need to revisit that album and see how it was an improvement on Crush in every way. It is a solid rock record and I love listening to it.

In terms of instrumental work I feel Lost Highway is by far the best 00s album. The guitars became more melodic again and less chord-strumfests. Make A Memory in particular proved the band are still capable of writing beautiful, memorable songs.

I haven't heard Working Man yet but We Weren't Born to Follow, I have a distinct 'meh' feeling on. I hope the version we have is a radio edit because it is stupid for Jon to yell 'Guitar!' and ... nothing to happen. I guess the only thing I like is how the drums are sounding, but the guitar on this song is uninspiring. I hope that this is just the 'mass-consumption' song and we get better stuff on The Circle as a whole.

There are a few things that keep me hanging in there with this band.
First it's the music. I can put in almost any Jovi cd and it makes a day better, no matter how good or bad things are in my little world.
I understand their songs, I get what they mean, and every album seems to have at least one song on it that identifies with something in my own life.
Live, there are very few artists that do it as well as Bon Jovi, I do go and watch others, but BJ is the only band I do multiple shows a tour.
Because of BJ, I have made some good friends over the years and hooking up with them at various shows is as important to me as seeing the band.
After 25 years, the music and the band are part of the fabric of my life, it would be weird to not have them there.

As Kathleen said.

They're simply the best damn live band I've ever seen.

The music...and I think with many of you like me there is just something about them that keeps drawing us back to them...the music. The difference with Bon Jovi and other bands such as lets say U2 is that with U2 I can say that my favorite album from them is Achtung Baby with no question, but with Bon Jovi it's to hard to say which album is my favorite, just an example. Also not to mention 25 years on the road and they're ****ing amazing live. I seen the best show from them on the Lost Highway tour which was only last year which is just crazy.

Or decent job or a helpin' hand
Wherever somebody's strugglin' to be free
Look in their eyes Mom you'll see me."
