Bed of Roses is offically about Jon's career. In the song he uses the analogy of his career as his mistress.

Yeah, but the whole point is his 'mistress' calls him away from the one he really loves- Dorothea, obviously. So it is a love song really

I never said it wasn't a "love" song. I just said that it's not something I would want played at my wedding. And while Jon wrote it from the perspective of his career pulling him away from Dorothea, you could also look at it as a song about cheating. It depends on your perspective and if you've been cheated on or not. At least that's how I always felt.
