I doubt that it did better than IML. Also, people are more often than not laughing their ass off because of the whole country-duet-thing. Not so much over here (never was a single, we didn't even get that version), but on most "general" rock-messageboards. Reputation and stuff, you know?

Good point, but I don't think they care so much about reputation anymore. Sure, they want people to like their songs, but that doesn't mean the same thing. Chart-wise it did better than IML (at least in the U.S.). Regardless, I just hope they keep making good music. And since Jon has FINALLY figured out that the fans want to hear Dry County I hope that they'll take that thought into their next album. *Crosses fingers*

Sorry, I meant the nail in the coffin for their reputation as a rock band. I'm not slating WSYCGH, I'm thrilled that it's been their most successful single of the last 10 years. I just think it's WAY too middle-of-the-road for a stadium rock band.

Oh ok. I agree, but even before then there best was TAALS. There last top forty single before that was, what, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead? Either way they haven't had a "rock hit" since KTF. Now if they would just release Last Man Standing...

The album and tour theory i totally agree on, that was my thinking (maybe it's just wishful thinking) wanting them to return, asap, and have another tour on our hands lol

Always was HUGE on the Top 40 and Adult Contemporary chart. It spent 6 months in the Top 10 on the AC chart (from October 1994 through April 1995). TAALS was Top 40 capitalizing on the strength of Always. Then they released SFTP which didn't do much for them. They did a dual single of SFTP/Lie to Me (their last "single" release in the USA) and I think the dual single hurt Lie to Me's potential.
