What seperates Bon Jovi

I think it helps they are all talented musicians, even if you're not a big fan of the lyrics or the song in general its still going to be well polished and produced.

I mean I hate the whole idea/lyrics behind We Got It Going On, but I know come a concert I'll be jigging up and down to it because its catchy, it's got good riffs, strong drums..all that kind of crap. I'm finding this hard to explain and I hope people get me here...Maybe it's because Jon is (supposedly) a perfectionist? Again to use an example - Who Says You Can't Go Home; I am against everything that stands for (Country Jovi) in principle but again it's not offensive to listen to, it's well produced, has the classic Jovi sing along - It's Allright in this instance -. It's not sloppy and just thrown together, thought and work has gone into it.

To be honest, it's hard for me to point to something and say, "THAT is what seperates them". They are reallly special, but how do you explain it? I said this last night in a different thread...no matter what they do next, those albums back in the day (NJ, SWW, TD, etc.), are just pretty much untouchable, in my mind. Obviously they have a lot of talent, each and every one has talent seperatley. It's not some boyband thing where, you have a decent singer or two (sometimes ), and then the other 3 just appeal to girls, because they look good (or a lot of young girls think they look good). Take them away from each other, and they are still talented...you get me? Their songs are not only put together well, but they have meaning behind them (most of them that is). They just have something where they speak to your heart.

On a personal level - I have a lot of memories with their music. When I was going through something, truely shitty and horrible and twisted, which I won't go into...I would put their music on, and each word was like Jon was saying it to me. Know what I mean? I know a lot of people say, "their music has helped me through" about a band...but with Jovi it's totally true to me, they really did. They could do that, like no other's could. And still today, their music have an effect on things, moods, ways of looking at things, etc.

Plus, I would like to have Jon's..babies.

Jon sets them apart. End of.

Even in hard rock, there are plenty of bands whose catalogues match up, but no bloody rock stars anymore. Precious little charisma.

Okay. Not just Jon. At their best they can give a real sense of hope. Saturday Night just about sums up what the band has been about the last 15 years or so. Few bands can do that.

Despite all the cheese, they can express a sentiment in a way that reaches an awful, awful lot of people. I'm not the only one here who will identify with Jade's experience.

They speak to the heart, that's what it is. That's what seperates them for me, and I'm sure loads of others. And obviously their songs are just kickass!

And with a leading man like Jon, you're gonna attract a lot of people. He has "the X factor" and it's not just because he is gorgeous. He has that...something, that quality.
