Before Richie went into rehab he started getting very very sloppy live and you could tell he was wasted. While he was an integral part of the band and sound, the only time you really see Richie shine on stage is when they are playing anything post 2000. You don't see him ripping apart any solos from the past 12 years like he does in say for example Keep The Faith. Phil X proved that Richie was indeed replaceable. Others will say different, but Jon is "Bon Jovi" nowadays.

A drunken sloppy Richie is always better than that hack Phil X.

Hated his sound and repetitiveness.

You could say Jon was always Bon Jovi and to some he is. Nowadays doesn't come into it I don't think. But I know myself and every Bon Jovi fan I know would not have bought tickets the European shows had Richie not been there.

I liked Phil X. A lot.

But he's not Richie.

Never was, never will. There is no Bon Jovi without Richie. Period.
