I know it is not a satisfactory explanation
Still I have to agree. I like Bullet, but Undivided is in my top 3 post-2000 songs. Heard it in Munich and it totally blew me away, though I also can't really tell why it is more of a rock song than Bullet to me.

This thread is ridiculously adolescent.

Most of the songs on The Circle rock as good as ever, if you ask me. I donīt need power chord progressions and a heavily distorted trash guitar sound to call a song rock.

Bon Jovi are a rock band. The majority of their songs are rock songs. This thread is stupid. People have to understand that the only reason why Bon Jovi are still relevant is because they were able to evolve their music over time. Look at the other music being put out lately, none of it is anything close to what Jovi used to sound like. Look at U2's run as well, they have changed their sound a lot, and they are arguably the biggest band in the world, still.

U2 are generally more accepted than Bon Jovi because they don't write shitty love songs for 10 year old girls. That said, I think U2 are overated anyway, and are not a patch on what they used to be. I guess you gotta evolve with the times in order to remain sucessful though. I liked some of the U2 stuff from How to Dismatle an Atomic Bomb a bit like I liked some of the Bon Jovi stuff from HAND, but as albums they are weak compared to their back catalogue. It's good in a way that bands such as Jovi and U2 are still going, but I also think that music lacks the influx of genuine new acts.
