For me and my wife it's a pretty clear line.

Official stuff, whether it's albums, a song that is only on a foreign release, videos, b-sides etc - no downloading, if we want it, we buy it, if that means we have 6 different copies of a CD to get all the bonus tracks then that is what we do.

Unreleased Demos and Unreleased Live stuff - hell yeah, bring on the DL, the more the merrier.

Unreleased upcoming CDs - well here is a grey area, we have gotten acetates in the past, sometimes months ahead of an album release, we rarely share these, as it is vlear they will be sold at a future date and be official, and while we will certainly buy a copy the day it goes onsale, like we have done for every album since New Jersey, we can't know the intentions of others.

Same plan at my house. Since I entered the game late, though, many of the items I wanted weren't available new any longer. For that reason, much of my collection came via eBay.

Yes, I thought adding to the threats, lack of sense and calling people words with *** in it would add even less to this post. I suppose an easy reply to this post was along the lines of whatever your stance on file sharing is, breaking this website's rule could end with legal trouble to the site itself, plain and simple. But what followed was a mixed bag of opinion and silly name calling.

I was contemplating closing the thread - the no file sharing policy is one of the rules of the administrator, so basically I couldn't care less whether you agree with it or not - but so far there's no actual file sharing or file sharing requests going on here. Keep it that way, please
By post 3 someone asks for a PM with two songs on - that to me, and to others who have commented on it, is a request.

I posted last year if someone had or knew where I could get a song, but in my case I was meaning a legit CD (which I eventually bought and posted info on where to buy it). I was soon reminded about the no file sharing rule. Reading over my post, it appears I am indeed asking for a file to be passed over, that was naive of me when I have read plenty of times about not file sharing, hence me wondering why it was taking so long for someone to point it out in this particular post.

I would like someone to tell me how, other than illegal downloading or being reeeeeally close to the band, someone is supposed to get their hands on a copy of The Vault CDs (that include the basement sessions from Slippery)? I found these on a torrent a long time ago, and there's no way, even if I wanted to, to pay for these songs. It just isn't gonna happen with something like that.

That's UNreleased material -- see what we said above.

My mistake, I missed that post when I looked at this thread first time round. However, the board members seem to have self-regulated quite nicely.

Ok, so you don't give a **** about what you say. You don't give a **** about granting people cancer of the eyes, ok.

But as a guy that lost his 10 year old brother to cancer, I give a ****. You don't wish that thing on anybody, I don't care if they cost you your job or ****ed your mother behind your daddy's back, you don't sink so low as to say stupid things like that.

Who do you think you are - Tony ****in' Soprano? (says I who's cursing all over the place in this post, but whatever)

You're an adult, if you don't know by now to not wish a terminal illness on someone then I have no conclusion but to say your parents didn't bring you up very well.

Don't forget to say you're a mother****er on your CV during your jobhunt.

I haven't lost my 10 year old brother to cancer and found his comment just as disturbing. I honestly don't understand how people can even come up with such cruel thoughts.

How about YouTube? There is a ton of official stuff on there (and some in HD quality sound).

So what is your opinion on ripping from You Tube? Or Just listening to official songs on YouTube? Or just listening to any song on a streamline site?

Is it illegal to hook up my laptop to my home stereo and listen to official Bon Jovi songs that are streamlined? I could literally rip the entire Circle Album from You Tube and listen to it. Or I can just listen to it directly from You Tube. So does it become illegal when you listen to it? rip it onto my pc? burn it onto a CD?

What if I rip the song from you Tube and burn it onto a CD so I could listen to it in my car? Is listening to the song on my laptop legal? but in my car illegal?

My point is, where do you draw the line?

If all this stuff is so illegal, how/why is all this stuff still on YouTube? The Circle has been there weeks before the official release and still there. You don't think BJHQ knows it's there? I'm sure Obie knows everything that's out there. That's even why he excluded certain songs from the Box Set.
