Fair enuff it just seems to me when anybody here doesnt like an album the Richie v Jon argument comes up. If Richie wanted to do longer more complex solos on the album then he would have. He has just as much say in the album as what Jon does so if you dont like an album its down to the whole band not just Jon.[/quote]

Or more likely the record company. However I would have liked Bounce a lot more if whoever decided it, his contribution was very much in the foreground like on anything Thesedays or before. Even Crush.

im not sure if i agree, im a huge richie fanatic and i thought he was heavly involved in bounce, his vocals and harmonies in the album are possibly more then any other, and his guitar is all over the album. heavy big guiar riffs which lead the songs, and his soloing he kept at a mid tempo pace, and gone for the simplistic approach....even right side of wrong is veyr simplistic but fantastically executed.

His guitar is Supporting through the majority of this album. There are more Lead Keyboards. He is in the spotlight very rarely compared to anything previously.

yeah, seriously his vocals are everywhere on bounce. a heck more then the past few albums for sure.

i personally think in all the rock songs on the album his guitar is very prominent and leads the song.

Just picking a random song out of my head for u to compare: In These Arms?

Compared to anything that went before, he is very much in the background.

ITA - distance

well i think in the likes of undiived/everyday, hook me up, bounce and the distance he is very prominent and those are the ones i consider the rock songs....the rest i admit is far more keys led, but he leads the rock ones IMO

I'd go for ITA. Vocal, Guitar - everything.

But the parts he does play are fundamental to the song. Sure there are some nice riffs, but they are in every BJ songs. There is nothing above & beyond those riffs.

You don't need to know music theory or know how to write to write music. Mozart wrote his first pieces when he was 5 (or 6 according to some sources). And many young children can compose without knowing how to write.

Ice
I'm sorry, Ice, but Mozart was a genius. Not your average 5-year-old. You don't see many prodegies like that today, do you?
