And it gets down to particular tastes again Why can't everybody just express their opinion, have a civil discussion and then share love for the same band? It's not about stars and starlets of this forum but all about the real music that is BJ...even if they do have some weaker songs xD

Not really. This is a public post board with the intention of discussion and debating...

I think someone speaking so matter of fact about a certain song being on a certain album deserves a debate... The was a reason why it was left off in the first place and I don't think it was by mistake... Here is the what was said"

"I have my version of the SWW and I think it works better than the original"

IMO, Adding Borderline does not make Slippery better... Everything Bon Jovi did in the 80's was fantastic so I won't say anything negative about the song itself but when compared to the rest of the album, it's not up there with the other 10 songs and it really doesn't fit.

I know the song was demoed during the Slippery sessions but it still has an amateurish 7800 writing style to it. But like I stated above, it's still great song just not on that Slippery level.

Though I'd personally take Borderline over Social Disease any day, I wouldn't change the album. SWW made me a fan of this band (though it was in '04 and not in '86) and even though I'm not too fond of Social Disease or Let It Rock I wouldn't change it. Especially not the second half since, ironically, this was the one I initially fell in love with.

A little off topic but the only 2 box set songs from the 80's are fantastic. Out Of Bounds was written for the movie Out Of Bounds in 1986. Has anyone ever confirmed when We Rule The Night was written? or for what album? I'm sure that the We Rule The Night vocal is just a one track demo take but I love hearing Jon in that voice...

(I know Outlaws is also split between the 80's and 90's but I'm leaning towards '92ish)

I could see why some people are divided with Social Disease but I don't get the divide for Let It Rock... It's a great way to launch an album... It's Slippery's LYHOM... Maybe not a great single like LYHOM but it's a great album song especially with the start of Pink Flamingos... Just My Opinion...

We Rule The Night stems from '85 as far as I remember. I think Obie mentioned this year when all the information for the box set songs were leaked in '04/'05. We all know some of them might've been a bit off, but I think it fits that era. It's not as synth-heavy as most of the Fahrenheit stuff and could've been the reason why it was left off in the first place.

Bonjovi90 brought up a good point... He heard the album in 2004 which is looking back... You have to take the times into consideration. When Ratt, Poison, Motley were what was popular and being heard on the radio... Borderline wasn't it...

Outlaws of love - how did that not make it onto an album. Is it KTF sessions??
