Fully agreed with my wife.

What does that even mean?
TD is TD, that's it. I don't want them to try and remake that, or any other album. If I want to listen to Bon Jovi do TD songs (or NJ songs, or Crush songs, or LH songs, or etc.) I will listen to those records. I don't want any 2.0s.

I hate to say it, but LH was the closest people will get to TD, if that makes sense. Lonely could have easily fit on there. Easily.

Not easy to pick up one, i can't.
Id love a mix of the two ... What i miss more in the albums since .... ( a long time !!!) is energy, rock, i think half of the stuff is weak ... catchy tracks are not enough for me.
When you hear it live after, ok, it's different, but when you don't see one concert in 9 years, you don't "live" the songs, even watching videos of lives and dvd's and all ... it's not the same. I think i missed hearing the songs i didn't like lot live. What's different with this album is that ill be able to go to a concert, then, after that, if i still don't really like the album, ill be very disappointed.

When people say they want a "new These Days", I don't think they want a carbon copy that completely apes former glories. They mean that they want a real flowing album with proper guitar work and lyrics that actually mean something. I mean, listen to These Days, it's full of interesting instrumental phrases and feels about 100% more profound and heartfelt than most of their work they've done recently. Bet they wouldn't have the bollocks now to use a Dylan-esque harmonica part on one of their tunes like they do on These Days the song, or a long solo similar to My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arm.

It's melodically superb and not half bad lyrically, either, the band sound like they mean it and they're playing like bastards. It's utterly bizarre that they followed that album by taking the direction they did with Crush. I'd definitely like them to persue the These Days direction again.

Exactly, so true, I want lyrics that mean something, as i said already, a catchy chorus won't do it for me, it's not enough. As for the instrumental part, it's so disappointed since a long time now, i honeslty don't expect to be surprised by something ...

By another TD I mean a record that uses the elements that made TDs such a good album. I'm talking meaningful lyrics, some socially concious songs, some interesting guitarwork, long tracks, Jons voice on good form. I don't want a carbon copy but for me, TD has something that the other albums don't, I'm not sure what it is, but I just want an album I connect to like I can with TD.
