Singer Natalie Maines said that the group was "ashamed" that Mr Bush was from Texas - a remark she later apologized for.

Here you go Shaun.

I'm sure her label's PR people made her do it.
There are times I am ashamed of what Bush says. The things that come out of his mouth....calling the leader of N.Korea an "evil little drawf" for example.
I can picture HIS PR people standing behind him, slapping themselves on their foreheads saying "Doh!".

You took the words right out of my mouth and I can't believe how hard it's been to get people to understand this simple concept! Besides, does anyone ever "win" a war? Let's pray for peace--soon!

i'm sure there a plenty of reasons why people are against war and they're all fully justified but at the end of the day if saddam attacked your country you'd be giving you PM/President stick for not getting rid of him.....i do think it's a major ego trip on the part of bush but saddam needs to be got rid of

I rather like the fact that Jon and the Band are not tring to voice "their" political views in a more visable way. My heart goes in two different directions...I'm proud of them for dedicating "The Distance" to the troops. Just because a person prays for the safety of the troops doesn't mean that they wish harm to the other side.

I am an American and my heart hurts for the Iraqi people that are in harms way and are innocent bystanders.

The sooner this all ends the better for all touched by "everything".

This is why I am a fan of Bon Jovi's...I can relate to their music and it allows me to "close the door and leave the world outside..."

Praying for peace....soon!

i hate when ppl say the troops are the ones with 'blood on their hands'. they didn't want this war - they got thrown in and have to do what the gov. told them to do...and i'm sure they in no way want to kill ne one - the guilt of that would be just awful.
Right now they need our support even if we don't support the war. Because its not them who chose to fight. Thats all i'll say.
