Something might be lost in the translation, so I'll explain further.

Our troops are doing a job--they are not allowed to choose to fight or not fight. They are not asked their opinion whether they think this war is right or wrong. They have no choice. The Commander in Chief (our president) has ordered this war as a representative of the government. If they do not follow orders and fight, they will be imprisoned.

Therefore, we choose to support the soldiers and their families hoping they come home safely, even if we do not support the war effort.

Right. Our soldiers have no other choice but to follow orders and fight. So we are supporting them in this job that they have to do. Becasue they don't have a choice, we can support them and pray for their safe return, and still be against the war because it isn't their decision to fight it.

Yes, I understand what you are saying about slodiers job (quite self-evident, eh?).

The point is, that there couldn't be more ridicilous thing than this! THEY ARE THERE TO KILL BECAUSE THEY ARE TOLD TO! I mean, Jeesus!

For exaple in Finland we only have .DEFENCEFORCES that are only to defend Finland in case a war starts.

And all of finns are part of defence forces (at least men, plus some women).

Being diplomatic would have been to keep his mouth shut, keep his political views to himself, and concentrate on playing rocking!

You seem to see 'supporting the troups' very simply. How are you supporting them, watching the news, hoping that casualties are kept low? That's not supporting them though, supporting them is to want them to suceed and do well, and win....... Which I suppose as the situation is, getting involved loosing would cause a huge problem, so I certainly wouldn't want that.....

However, I think the best way we can support the troups is to round them up, and send them back home to their families.
