I was listening to Superman Tonight today after a while ... What a great song ! I really love the punch of it and the cheesy lyrics ...

I LOVE Superman Tonight. One of my all time favs. I argue with myself though whether I consider it a ballad or a mid-tempo song. It's kinda both in different places.

I also adore Into the Echo, and I've been listening to Real Love more and more lately. Then there is Strangers, Walk Like a Man, I Am and These Open Arms which I also enjoy.

I would say though, that in the typical sense of a ballad, either Make a Memory or Thank You For Loving Me was the bands last great one.

The best one of all time though, gotta be a close one between I'll Be There For You and Bed of Roses (Always gets the bronze IMO).

Make a Memory. I really like Real Love, but it's not really in the class of Memory.

I would never call Superman Tonight a ballad just because it starts out slow. It's a midtempo pop-rock song.

In this version Superman Tonight would've been the last great ballad for me:

But going by the albums, my vote goes to Make A Memory.

I absolutely LOVE that acoustic Superman Tonight. But the last great ballad? Make A Memory for me.

'Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore

I get why some people wouldn't like it, but I always found it brilliant and this is as much of a ballad as it gets with great guitar solo by Richie.

Although I Will Drive You Home deserves some love and it's a shame that it will end up as an obscure bonus track (e.g. These Arms are Open All Night from HAND)

Yeah, I'd say 'I Will Drive You Home' too.

Something about Jons vocals get me every time. I absolutely love the 'When the rest are gone, I'll be standing here' line too. Especially how he says it at the end.

Still hate the stupid robots, though.

What??? The robotic vocals at the end make the song perfect. I just can't imagine this song fading out or just hearing Jon and David singing "Let'em rev their engines let'em spin their wheels.." with their normal voices, although at the end you can clearly hear Jon's voice at "I'll be standing here".

Loads seem to like it, I can't stand it haha.

I can imagine JBJ sounding epic going deeper and quieter saying them lines until it fades out..
