Even Jon has said that it's the touring (and the merchandise) that they make money on. The album is really just an excuse to tour again. Now if they put out a kickass album - that would just be icing on the cake. I always love to hear new music. It's just that many of us long time fans have been disappointed with the quality of the releases - pretty much since the 90's.

Ever single studio album has been wank since 2000. Their live release sucked, as did their "acoustic" album and to top that we've got 3 live DVD's that were rubbish. Honestly, I'm not getting my hopes up and expect something great this time. It's just not going to happen anymore. It's that the European leg of the Lost Highway tour has been that great or I would've lost interest in Bon Jovi completely.

I've been reading this board for 9 years now and the anticipation with Crush was great, but no one really knew what Crush was about anyway. The anticipation for the live album was great, but everyone sort of thought "that's it?" The anticipation for Bounce was great, brilliant atmosphere here after the good One Wild Night tour but pretty much every die hard that posted here agreed that Bounce was a new low. Have A Nice Day was better, but Bounce really was the turning point when it came to anticipation. Surely, with new generations coming up who have never experienced this it will be new to them but for me it's the same old. It's sad, but that's just the way many die hards feel.

Like Kathleen says, a new album that would actually live up to what they promised would be fantastic, but there's nothing that leads me to believe that it's actually going to be that way.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

My expectations are pretty low im just hoping to be pleasently surprised. To be fair though, Bon Jovi albums are still better than anything else in the charts these days. I can appreciate songs from LH more than when I first heard them. I just want something that rocks, thats original and can catipult them back into the charts and make them relevant again. Not asking alot am i?

Seb's really not far off.

I'm excited as I always am with every release. But I'm also cautious. If We Weren't Born To Follow is a great song IMO, then my excitement level will rise. I hope it is, I want it to be, but something tells me it'll just be passable.

Judging by the fact that this album comes 2 years after Lost Highway, I'm not expecting any brilliant anthems like 'It's My Life'.

Obviously, I do hope I'm wrong

I've got a feeling David will reply to this.

I don't know. I think we could have it. I'm hoping we do anyway.

While the acoustic video of Working Man sounded promising, I wouldn't say it was enough to blow the lids off either. As the older fans here will attest to again and again, Jon has called every release this decade as an album that was "loud and gonna rock." Well, he didn't call Lost Highway that, but who even counts that... Anyone who goes by Jon and Obie's word that this album "rocks" are kidding themselves. Sadly, the tame, neutered feeling of 'When We Were Beautiful' is probably a far more likely sound. Keep your fingers crossed I'm wrong.

The logic is not in favor of this being a good album. Come on guys, they've been writing for less than a year. It's almost certain there will be a few songs on the first half of the album we like, and then the last half will be all filler. If Bon Jovi weren't so concerned with commercial releases, maybe they'd concentrate on just 5-7 songs that were really good and release a class album. But as others have said, they don't care.

There are signs that it could be, though. The name being 'The Circle' .. going country could inspire them to go back to rock. Jon has also said it in shows that it will be a rock record!

You always make me laugh, Mo.

As long as it is a solid album, I'm happy. I don't need it to be as good as 'Keep The Faith' or 'These Days', just better than 'Have A Bice Day, 'Crush' etc. which they can do in my opinion.

Have A Bice Day? That must be a rare album! Is it any good?
