What's the deal with backstage?

There are 2 main issues with Backstage:
1) The cost, not just for membership, but for the "extras" that they then offer.
2) The over-the-top modding of messages posted on the messageboards. I got flamed numerous times for actually standing up to people (such as the "front row/I've seen BJ 1 million times" brigade) and also had the balls to complain about a show or an album.

It's true though - most members are bored housewives or ugly single women who fantasize daily about their dose of Jon!

My issue with Backstage is the cost - benefit ratio.
I'm a member of several other fanclubs and they're all less expensive and offer much more benefits than a bad organized ticket presale.
I've got free downloads of songs, uncensored message boards and meet and greet oppurtunities (with no extra charge).

I don't like Backstage, I rarely post there
Am only a member for tickets and early entry.

Jon is not a God. I get really tired of reading that one.
And no, some people there like to talk about the music, not his hair.
And....there are wonderful fans in the club. I met many of them.
I'm not on the board there anymore because I won't pay those high fan club memberships anymore and not get the first 5 rows at a local show.
Been there....done that.
I'm still thinking it's time to join a different fan club.

I am a member of backstage and I agree some members worship Jon like anything. There are some good people there but members there are divided into groups. If you argue with someone the whole group attacks you for your viewpoint and when you counterattack they all go complaining to admin about you. In my personal case they must have complained to admin 1000 times about me. Some of them think that all the bootlegs on the net about bon jovi
are from me.
I am a guy and am a fan of Richie and don't give a crap about jon's hair or ass

And some of them really believe that since they are members of backstage they
are better fans than non members

I must get myself back over there sometime. Alot of people aren't that bad, I have made some good friends on here and over on Backstage

I don't want to have sex with Jon either....

This is something that really bugs me about a lot of people over there.

Maybe I would join if they would donate a big part of that amount for a good cause. That would make sense and help. And more fanclub shows would be a good idea IMO.
Do they have monthly magazines or something like that too?

okay, so I will agree that there are definite differences between backstage and here, I am a member there and come here often. I post very little, but this pissed me off. I am not a mental housewife and I don't want to have sex with jon. Both places have there pros and cons, although I find it more interesting here btw. Oh, and I am also not a sheep, I do not blindly love everything they say and do. I like what I like, don't listen to what I don't like, don't over analyze the hell out of every little thing and don't sit around deciding what I'll like before I even hear it.
Okay, I'm done..............(I think it was the mental housewife thing.......!!!)
