Always, great vocals, great guitar work, little bit of blues in there and the live versions of the nineties piss over any other ballad ever released, though I'll Be There For You is a close second.

Never understood the love for Living In Sin. It's one of the weaker songs of New Jersey for me, and the lyrics cringeworthy beyond belief. Nowadays live versions are boring beyond belief as well.

Seb, not to argue with you because it's you, but honestly, how can you say the lyrics to LIS are cringe worthy but praise Always?

"I will love you baby, Always."

I love Always, don't get me wrong, but it's far from a lyrical masterpiece. I'll take "Wear that ring of diamond, when your heart is made of stone, You could talk but still say nothing, Stay together but alone" to any lyrics on Always.

Just want to add the fact, that the extended performances of livin in sin - especially in the 80's - and the ones of I'll be there for you - in the 80's + 2001 tour - , easily piss over any live performance of " Always " .

great vocals + guitars on both songs. These songs are the definition of a power ballad. Always has always been too "soft" for me.

I voted for I'll be there for you because live it amazingly attracts the audience and simply is an amazing song

Don't like any ballads really. Well, I should put it into context, all of them are good songs, but from the list the only two would make my top 20 Jovi songs.

I always loved I Want You so that would be in there. Just for the record, I'll Be There For You would be in the 20s, as would Lie to Me, This Ain't a Love Song and Never Say Goodbye would be in the 30s.

Had to vote for Lie to Me. There is nothing about this song I don't like. While I do love the lyrics and music of Always and BOR I think they have been overplayed in concert and just aren't that special to me any more. Or perhaps, I've been to too many Bon Jovi concerts...

Never Say Goodbye with Living in Sin a very close 2nd.
