Default When a Blind man Cries (Richie)

I guess most of you already have (or have heard) this one the album is being re-released (and for the first time released in north america).
Richie does the vocals for the one song and of course Stuart Smith does the guitar work.There are some killer guitar work throughout, I hadn't heard of Stuart Smith before this.

Just thought some of you might be interested.

anyways... the song is really great... even better than the Deep Purple's original... {am I allowed to say this?}

Are you 100% positive that Richie wasn't on the guitar? Just the vocals?

According to the booklet Stuart Smith and Richie are playing guitar.

Richie plays guitar and Dobro on 2 more songs on the CD.

I don't generally like the idea of DP classic being raped

The review that is provided via the link on the site noted that Richie does the solo as well as the vocals.

The song is ****ing awesome and definitely needs to be added to everyones collection. Do whatever you have to--download, beg, borrow, steal, just get this song.

Cheers peoplez,

Mikey D

I really Love this version a lot ,I bought the cd of Heaven and earth , when it was released,and I recommend this album if you like the 70's sound , Deep Purple and of course Richie
On my little page ( sorry it's in french..but for the pics and samples audios it's ok for you , by the way there is an interview of richie about his gear in English..quite interesting)

I put a small article (scroll down ,some of the first post) of the collaboration of Richie on Heaven & Earth

Well, I've posted a link... but the "high council" said it was not allowed... PM me if you'd like to have your copy

Honestly, Richie's version sounds even better then DP original, with Blackmoure on the guitar and Gillan on the vocals....

Awesome... just listen Richie's guitar solo... it breaks your heart to hear it cry... and the vocals are somehow harder... Gillan's version is too quiet for me now...
