I was including the albums themselves, but you're right the Box Set interviews are pretty cool.

The box set interviews are flat out boring and way too serious. This band was never one to goof around much but it's an absolute snoozefest to watch.

Jon and Richie lost their cool somewhere in 2002. Jon's always been a bit of a snob, but he had a "fun" side as well. Richie was out of it in 2005 and 2006 and never really returned, I can't remember one performance of the HAND era of which I'm thinking "yeah, they really had a blast there". I'm sure getting older's got something to do with it but with every subsequent release they seem to lose more interest in actually going out there and promoting their stuff.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I dont think its anything metioned here.

I think it has a lot to do with his voice drastically deteriorating. Bon Jovi in their hayday was built on fast rock and a high wailing voice. With Jon's range drastically deteriorating and having to re-invent his voice again he realised that there was no way that he could have another "I believe, Love Song, Always, Living In Sin, In These Arms..." I think a lot of Jon's melodic song writing (lyrics aside) is based on his vocal range. This change occured in 2003 and was evident in Hyde Park when he couldn't sing for shit.

I bet What About Now would be talked about at differently if it had the same sound and screaming vocals of Keep The Faith. Because there is a lot of Keep The Faith that is prevalent in the last 2 albums. Jon's been political for years. His politics drove him to Moscow Peace Festival when it was the Soviet Union

Erm, no it didn't. Doc McGhee came up with the idea and was managing Bon Jovi, thus making it relatively easy for them to break ground there, especially with New Jersey being the first rock record to be released in the Sovjet Union. In 1989 Jon knew **** all about politics.

How do you know this? I remember a bit of Access All Areas where Jon states he keeps his politics to himself. He must have known a bit of politics and had some sort of say about Moscow Peace Festival because the Soviets would've have let him in if he had some sort of agenda like 99% of paranoid Americans had back then

Yes and didn't Doc McGhee organize the festival as part of the deal regarding his huge infamous drug bust? He called in favors with other bands to get it done. And everyone was doing drugs on the flight to Moscow (one musician reported later)

Yeah it was to raise awareness to kids taking drugs - and yes they were off their tits. But Jon's actions on night 2 were very politically minded. Taking the uniform from the Soviet Police officer, wearing it on the way to stage and throwing it into the crowd. His way of stating that his politics are very much polar opposites to what was going on in Russia at the time

Nah. If you listen to one of his interview's with Larry King, it had nothing to do with politics at all. He was looking to grab the audience's attention away from the act that went before him who the crowd loved. He saw a police officer and the idea came to him. He instructed his band to keep playing as he made his way to the stage and he was kind of doing a strip tease on the way.

The ones with the four of them in the studio have some entertaining moments.

The Box Set interviews were not boring at all. Jon telling us how he 'got it right the first time' with his wife is boring. But the Box Set interviews were really cool. We learned that Keep The Faith was supposed to be a double album. Also, Slippery was almost called Guns n Roses. There were a bunch of cool little facts. IIt's very enjoyable.

As far as the Moscow Peace thing goes. Doc was caught trying to smuggle in a truck full of marijuana which is serious shit. That festival kept him out of jail and avoided serious time.
