Most guitarists I know (including, I'll admit, myself) are tone snobs. It's hard to put into words but you know when playing whether the sound your getting is what you 'want'. To anybody else, it may sound the same whether played wirelessly or plugged in but to the muso, it is all about subtle differences and it DOES sound different.

I know nothig about guitar playing (or at least nowhere near enouh to say aything about Richie Sambora) but could it just be that he prefers to be plugged in, and there's no bier reason than that?

Maybe but I think he possibly just sees the cables as 'adding' to the sound. The less digital it is the more pure I suppose.

That's right ^^ about tone. Wireless units tend to give an unnaturally "level" sound with little tonality and musicality, whereas plugging it in gives a true sense that what you're hearing is some strings vibrating - like hearing a car's engine instead of a fake exhaust for example.
