Default When should Bon Jovi have called it quits?

With all the discussion of Richie leaving, the band's live quality going down, the album sucking, etcetera etcetera... as well as people saying the band should call it a day, I figured I'd make this poll. So, given that the band would be decent enough to disband after a tour is done, when should they have thrown in the towel, if they should have at all?

I believe they should've announced the 2011 tour as their farewell tour. They could've possibly thrown in some more shows in Jersey after the Lisbon gig and went out with a bang. They sounded good, and that was before the whole shit-storm that has been the first half of Bon Jovi's 2013. The album is passable, but I surely wouldn't miss it if it never existed.

I don't think they should have or should call it quits anytime soon. I do think however that some of the decisions to capitalize on their new found status as a band have them burning out. That whole, have a new release every year they did for a while had them with too much over exposure. I just think TLFR shouldn't have happened, Bounce could have taken a while longer for a 2003 release, the boxed set was perfect. TC could have waited a bit more, maybe release the GH before it, and I think WAN would have been perfect to release sometime next year....

I voted for after Crush/One Wild Night tour. They would have quit on a high note. Crush was a very successful record with a song that became a classic (It's My Life). And the tour was a success as well. Also, Jon could still sing back then.

Personally I put not yet. I still like what they do, despite not holding a candle to previous releases, I like the new stuff for what it is. And they still tour and I haven't been disappointed when I have seen them- although will see if that changes on this tour.

They don't need to "give up" as such, just not necessarily continue with the big album/big tour juggernaut every x amount of years.

If they are going to carry on....with or without Richie they should do smaller tours less dates, this will make everyone appreciate the music more

I miss the option of "they should have taken a long break after The Circle", which would have lead to a new (and final) era, like Crush did. But since that is not an option, I said not yet.

However, if Richie is gone for good and Jon decides to continue releasing Bon Jovi albums and touring with Phil X, then it's the time. But I don't think he will. For me, I just don't see Jon contiuing the band until Richie returns, other than filling the obligations to do shows, which is what he's doing now. If Richie doesn't return, I guess Jon will just start putting records under the "Jon Bon Jovi", which will sell a bit less, but nobody will have a problem with him ruining the band's legacy.

I voted after Have A Nice Day as alot of the stuff after this is listenable but it's not great. What the band have gone through in their personal lives since this album makes me wonder whether or not they should've had a break/quit around this time.

Take a break, have some fun and then come out and tour without a record. Just for the hell of it.

If some songs come about while Jon and Richie are together, great but don't force it.

They should have quit on August 7 at 4:15.

My sincere and humble apologies. Didn't realise there was a backstory to the song, just googled it and saw the wikipedia page. Had I known, I wouldn't have made the comment. No disrespect intended.

Should be an option to say if Richie has quit
