There is only 1 song in the bands entire catalogue which sounds too similar to another song and that is Captain Crash > Stay Young by Oasis.

Other than that I think its just natural that some songs sound similar. One song that comes to mind is Hearts Breakin Even > Cryin' by Aerosmith, although both are Desmond works im sure.

Also, not the entire song but the bit on Have A Nice Day where the guitar strums just after the guitar solo and when and Jon yells "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh (Ohhhh if theres one thing i hand on to)", sounds exactly like the guitar strums on Run To You right before Bryan Adams also yells "Ohhhhhhhhhhh (im gonna run to you)". Have a listen!

Jon and Richie ask Belissa why she stole their music and she answer that it was idea by her producer and she run away from them. I read somwhere about it.

I love both bands and songs but I don't see much more similarities on this 2 songs than YGLABName or Bitter Wine ecc.

For me they have 2 big similarities on their songs. And probably this is the reason why these songs are not on CD (only as a bonus).

1.Put Boy Back In Cowboy (Queen)

2.Another Reason To Believe (Rolling Stones):

This discussion has been going on for decades.

When it comes to BJ, it started by the time SWW was released and someone found similarities between Bad Name and that Bonnie Tyler song If You Were A Woman. DC admitted in an interview that he used the same basic idea for both songs.

2 years later, when I heard IBTFY for the first time it was frightening to discover that Jon and Richie were recycling the intro of Donīt Let Me Down (by The Beatles).

If we try hard enough, Iīm sure every single song in this world can be accused of being a rip-off. I mean, how many different chord progressions can there really be in rock music? Letīs wait these two or three remaining weeks til the Circle comes out and I am sure there will be a thread in here on how many of the songs are more or less rip-offs.

Some songs just sound alike, at least if we listen hard enough. And thatīs fine with me.

August 7 was written about his managers daughters death, I doubt seriously he was thinking about anyone elses song or much of anything else at that time except how horrible it was.

I agree with you. August 7 is one of the saddest BJ songs ever. The chords may be the same as in the Neil Young song but the character of the song is very different. It wasnīt written to be a hit song with a recycled chorus.

The chorus of the song is the part that sounds the most different. It's the verses that are very similiar to me.
