Yes - seriously it was. It came out around the time after 9/11 and just before the US invaded Iraq (we had aleady invaded Afganistan) and ANY antiwar sentiment was not tolerated by the US government. The music and video companies went along with the government by refusing to broadcast it.

Please, they didn't play the video because the song stinks. Grant you, pop music (including rap) stinks as much like crap, but AALY stinks in a way that popular music doesn't because it is Bon Jovi. Let's not overdramatize this whole thing.

Nothing (probably) was banned, they just probably didn't play it. Plenty of other artists were speaking out policitally (musically and otherwise) and still getting their crummy music on 'the mtv.'
