There is no correct answer to this question because there is no strict definition about what constitutes rock music.

What we are doing in reality is simply venting about where we think Bon Jovi should draw the line in terms of the musical compromises they make.

Personally I even consider songs like These Days strong rock songs, even 2 story town. From Crush onwards the songs are much less complex or at least it seems that way to my untrained ear. But stuff like '2 story town' in my book is still rock. But 'born to follow' no way.
