Story Of My Life is exactly what is wrong with Bon Jovi. It's just another rehash of past successes and a mix of Just Older and The Radio Saved My Life Tonight. Just Older for it's talk about life in general and it's approach to it, and Radio because of the bridge they do in it when they're played live. It's the typical Jon trying to be intimate with it's audience while talking crap over some piano medley, which also happens during Older and Radio. But while The Radio Saved My Life Tonight and Just Older just have good lyrics about where Jon is in his life, Story Of My Life has nothing of that. A 40 year old singing about how yesterday's a memory and another page of history sounds like a 15 year old talking about the last day at school. It's not what 40 year olds should be writing about, and just another showcase of Jon trying to write for 15 year olds, instead of him writing about his own life and experiences. When Jon writes with a thought of what other people might like, he fails. When he writes about what inspires him, he succeeds.

I don't know Seb. You know I respect your opinion, but I don't agree on this one. Perfect examples you bring up about Radio and Just Older. They fit perfectly with where Jon was (I would assume) at that point. And in comparison, I think Story does the same thing. Maybe not with the same lyrical effectiveness of those 2, but certainly in the sound of his voice and the sound of the music.
