What Do You Got.

It could fit in The Circle. The other songs were a disappointment for me.

Actually, I like all of them, and especially "What Do You Got" has held up very well with me. I like the lyrics. They are simple, but very true. They touched me in a very certain point in my life like they were written for me... so... The song is perfect... in a way. It's weird.

When they came out none of those songs were what I would've expected from the new tracks, and if they wouldn't exist I would be the last to miss anything in the catalogue. They ate not "Always" nor "Satuday Night".
But on the other hand, each track has a certain something. They are not masterpieces, but I still love to listen to them, and I like how each of them has its own different flavour. And TMTC is clearly one of the best of the country flavoured songs of them, much better than WSYCGH, in songwriting, lyric and production. Overall, the production is much better than on "The Circle", warmer and fuller. I don't see "This Is Love" fitting in on the album stylistically at all.

I liked them at the time, and I'm sure if I was to put them on now I'd still enjoy them somewhat, I just have no desire to do that. Throwaway songs really.

There's nothing country about TMTC.

These days no song of the tracks is left in my playlist. "This is love" was a great rocker for me at the beginning although a good guitar riff during the verses is missing. I like the lyrics because they wrote the story of my life when the song was released. Now the song got a bit boring to me.

As Simon mentioned it: "What do you got" has very simple but true lyrics and they were also very important to me at that time. But musically it's no masterpiece of work, of course.

I like "No apologies" because musically it's very "fresh" to me. I like the development of the song with its slow beginning at the first verse which leads to more tempo in the second verse with Richie's vocals.

"The more things change" got better and better. I like it much more than "Who says you can't go home". First, the "dark voices" at the beginning didn't fit to the rest of the song, but now I think they give it something special and it sounds cool. I also think that the track is country-flavoured and it's the best of the these songs.

It's the same country twang as "Who Says" and it could fit very well onto LH.

I always thought TILTIL is a classic Bon Jovi song that could have been a big hit in the 80īs.

Thereīs no denying it is overproduced and it lacks a proper distorted guitar riff. And Iīm still not certain whether they used a drum machine or not. I also wish it was sung in a higher key. But even with all these shortcomings, I love the song. Since 1987, itīs one of my all-time BJ favorites. This opinion of mine hasnīt changed since the release of GH.

I don't want to start up this discussion again but agreed. It's as country as Who Says which isn't country at all. It's the same rootsy twang they've had in a LOT of songs past that they never described as country. I'll admit it's very similar to the style as Who Says but it ain't country.

What Do You Got? is my clear choice as the best of the four. It is a top 20 Jovi song for me, maybe even top 10.

I listen to No Apologies a decent amount of time. I listen to This is Love sometimes and The More Things Change rarely.

Unfortunately, the only one I got to hear live was The More Things Change.
