Wow! What a difference a couple of years can make......

Especially comparing the HAND tour '05/'06 to The LH Tour '07/'08 to The Circle Tour '09/10.

Even Jon seems like a completely different person looking back a few years.

Just Different!

Jon was 43 years old during the HAND tour and a couple of years is a big difference at that age considering he'll be 50 in a few months. From '95 to '05 he was the same guy. From '07 to Now he's much different. I think Jon wants to be more polished and less raw when it comes to the band which comes across less natural to me. He's also much more into politics and his philanthropy work which plays a factor.

I think the HAND tour solidified the band as a big Stadium Touring act. The Crush Tour was their comeback, along with the OWN and Bounce Tour but I think the HAND tour put the stamp on it. It seems like the LH and TC Tour were more of a going through the motion time because now, they earned that Stadium Tour Status. They had that nothing to fight hard for attitude. I'm not saying that there weren't great shows/performances during those times but I just see a different band.

I think the last great natural balls out performance was Live Earth in '07 at Giants Stadium. But that’s just my opinion

HRC? The Live Earth show? No, I missed that one. I average 2 shows per Tour, Per Leg. Meaning if they play locally this summer and come back around in the Spring, I'll got to 4 shows. I've been doing this since '92 but saw my first live show in '90.

Youtube and these live DVDs don't do this band justice. You need to be there in person

I agree with RDK about Live Earth. Performances since have had lots of passion and great vocals, but really, those vocals are only relatively great compared to the vocals around it.

Listen to the "LIVIN' On A PRAAAAYYYYEEEERRR" at 12 minutes 46 seconds. If Jon could sing like this all the time, I would be an extremely happy camper. He doesn't sound very nasal here, very little unnecessary "EEEEOOOHS" and "EEEE"s.

I was at that Live Earth show at Giants. I went because there were a ton of other bands that I wanted to hear live (Dave Matthews, Keith Urban, The Police, Roger Waters and lots more). I left the place having been seduced by my old love - Bon Jovi. They blew the roof off the place that day - they were untouchabe - nobody else got everyone out of their seats rockin' and singing like they did. In addition Jon sounded incredible.

I hate to age myself at 37 but I saw this band go througt the unstopable 80's. The great artistic 90's and the amazing 2000's comback. I just hope 2010+ will be a step forward. I don't want to live in the past with this band. For me, it will be weird and make me feel old. Jon needs to reinvent, I just hope his voice will let him do so. Only time will tell.
