Who cares what singles are released, why does it matter?

I dont really care one way or the other what is released and what is not. Personally I rather listening to the non released songs because they are more original and more known to only us fans. I hate people who just chime in and like Everyday or Its My Life and dont know what else is on the album. Everyday is probably the least favourite song for me to listen to because you hear it everywhere, so if you dont like Misunderstood, so what. Who cares what they release, as a real fan does the songs they release change how you feel about them? You can listen to any song you want anytime, so what is the deal with obsessing over what they release? They are a successful band so don't give me that whole argument about whats a success and what is not. The band is so advanced now that no 1 song determines who they are or what they stand for, and personally, I dont give a f-f-f-f-f- what other people think of the band, I know what I think of them, and no single or non single will change that.

I totally agree with you. I don´t care what others think of them.
I usually like the album tracks better than the singles, cause they´re funnier, better, more original. I even like some demos better than the songs that actually make the album. I have all the albumtracks, b-sides, singles, demos. I can listen to them whenever I want to. So I BASICALLY don´t care which songs they release as singles.
BUT: Singles are released to sell well. To get people´s attention on this particular single, on the album and on the band. So that people get interested in this band/their songs and buy the album.
Therefore it´s important that they release catchy, good songs that do well in the charts, to get NEW fans. That´s the only matter of releasing singles. If not for attracting new fans, they wouldn´t have to release singles at all.

while there is some truth in what you are saying...
Bon Jovi's success and future is based on how well its released songs go....b/c if they flop then no-one will buy the album, or the singles, and therefore the record companies won't be getting any revenue from them....and there will be no point on any record companies taking them on board....
however bj is a long way past that stage...and are better than that...and they have a big enough fan base to never worry about being unemployed...but its still nice to see the guys do well

I agree with you jovi29579. The only thing that concerns me about the new single is will there be any unreleased demos.

I don't think Jon worries about the single being a hit too much. He said he left quote unquote hits off of Crush; becasue there were other songs they'd rather play live everynight.

Personally I think Misunderstood is probably one of the more catchier songs on the cd. My roommate doesn't like Bon Jovi but Love Me Back To Life has caught his attention. The Distance caught my attention the first time I listened to the cd. I think every song on bounce is pretty equal. I think it's hard to say what single would do the best.

Who would've predicted Always doing what it did? Who would've predicted Prayer doing what it did. Jon didn't want to have Prayer on Slippery as we all know, and Always was only released to give the fans something new on Cross Road. He was going to give it to some soundtrack for a foregin film.

I think the Bon Jovi name alone pretty muchs secures worldwide sales of around $10 millions copies. People have been getting quailty cds for almost 20 years now, they do not need to hear singles to make them want to buy the new cd. I actually didn't want to hear Everyday or any of Bounce until I got Bounce and all the bsides. I wanted to sit down with 19 brand new songs and take it all in; it's an amazing feeling I tell you.

I can't remember the last time I seen a Bon Jovi video on MUCHMUSIC, Canada's video station for popualr artists; but as far as I know Bon Jovi sells pretty well here in Canada album wise. I think Crush's debut was at #4 here in Canada. I don't listen to my local rock station much but what little I have, I have not heard Everyday.

There are very few people in the world who are not familar with Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi fans of the 80's are becoming parents and passing it onto their kids, My litte brother was 4 when I turned him onto Bon Jovi, he's now 13 and a huge Bon Jovi still to this day.

Bon Jovi Forever. One single is not really going to have much impact on this bands career at this point.

i became a jon jovi fan after hearing its my life and jon doing an interview about it, since than ive bought every album released after its my life, and ktf, new jersey, slippery and cross roads from before. so im glad they released its my life or i proberbly wouldnt know much about bon jovi - but it just depends on everyones tastes, that song might have put some people off.

I can see both sides here. While it doesn't matter to the die-hard fans which song is released, it is still an important choice. Fans like us will buy the album no matter what the singles are, but a great single can introduce more people to Bon Jovi's music. When you have a great thing like Bon Jovi, you always want to spread the word so more people can share the experiance. That's where the singles come in. Will there be people who only like one song Jovi's ever done? Yes, of course. But will there also be new die-hard fans born? Absolutely. So basically what I'm saying is this: Do we need to care which song is released? Nope. But the guys behind the scenes probably should.
