I totally agree with you. I donīt care what others think of them.
I usually like the album tracks better than the singles, cause theyīre funnier, better, more original. I even like some demos better than the songs that actually make the album. I have all the albumtracks, b-sides, singles, demos. I can listen to them whenever I want to. So I BASICALLY donīt care which songs they release as singles.
BUT: Singles are released to sell well. To get peopleīs attention on this particular single, on the album and on the band. So that people get interested in this band/their songs and buy the album.
Therefore itīs important that they release catchy, good songs that do well in the charts, to get NEW fans. Thatīs the only matter of releasing singles. If not for attracting new fans, they wouldnīt have to release singles at all.
