Oh, poor me. The Richie fans are mad at me. I guess it's a good thing I've never publically said what I REALLY think of his abilities. And I do keep that to myself so as not to hurt someone else's feelings.

I have nothing against Richie Sambora as a person. But as a singer and songwriter (as in songwriter on his own), I'm not impressed. I find nothing all that inspiring or magnificient about his solo songs. I'm not impressed with Justin Timberlake either. It doesn't mean I hate the man. Since some of you are so easily offended that someone doesn't worship at the alter of St. Sambora, I keep what I really think to myself. But if someone asks me who is the better musician between Jon and Richie, you better believe I'll say Jon because he's written enough songs on his own to judge. The truth of the matter is, Prince is a better musician than EITHER of them could ever be. There are dozens of better musicians. But when you put Jon and Richie together you get magic.

I remain unconvinced by your arguments.

Only a shallow person would refrain from saying what he/she really thinks, just to avoid falling out with people. Say what you think about Richie, I want to know. Don't worry, you won't loose any friends on this board, most people don't like you anyway. I love jon, look at my kittens aren't they cute?

Becky, I agree with you. I appreciate Richie's talents but his solo stuff does nothing for me. I think Jon has the versatility to write different styles of music and two of his songs have even been recorded by country artists (I Want You and Bang a Drum). I don't agree about Prince necessarily but Bruce Sprinsteen runs rings around all of them- LOL! And actually Little Steven Van Zandt and Nils Lofgren both runs rings around Richie as solo artists too (oh boy am I in trouble!)

Actually, it's a person who has respect for other people's feelings. I'm sure that's something you can't understand.

I don't come on here to make friends and play "let's compliment each other all day and talk about egg nog". I have real friends in the real world for that.

If what you say about Richie is intelligent crtiticism then you should not be worried about hurting peoples feelings. The fact that you are not offering your views suggests it is more of a petty, childish reason for your hate towards him.
