People's Choice Award nominees announced
Tue Nov 7, 6:08 PM ET

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Johnny Depp, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, Ellen DeGeneres, Carrie Underwood and Shakira lead the nominees for the 33rd annual People's Choice Awards.

The nominations were announced Tuesday at the Peninsula Hotel by Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan, Isaiah Washington and Kate Walsh.

Internet research firm Knowledge Networks called on pop culture fans to help determine the nominees. The public can help choose the winners online at http://www.pcavote.com. The CBS-TV show will be broadcast from the Shrine Auditorium on Jan. 9.

A second round of nominees for categories that includes favorite movie, new TV comedy and remake of a song will be announced later.

The first round nominees are:

Rock song:
"Call Me When You're Sober," Evanescence
"Dani California," Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Who Says You Can't Go Home," Bon Jovi

Their selections of Male Country Singers and Country Songs are pretty poor too.

Oh boy if BJ wins this I can already hear Jon brag about how WSYCGH breaks all the genre barriers and how that is what BJ as always been about and how BJ is able to reach new audiences and how that's how you sell over a 100 millions records etc...

If I were him I'd buy the vote and the award

You can vote every day, so I'm sure there will be a block of Bon Jovi fans doing just that. I also think that Who Says will probably win just because it did cross genres. I've never even heard the other two nominated songs, personally.

I'm not sure how the group of folks selecting the nominees were dertermined but like the nominees or not
that's who they picked. So, I think that says something about the popularity of Who Says especially when compared to groups like Nickelback and Green Day who got a lot of radio airplay.
