Well, supposedly, this process is audited, lol. But, here is how the nominees were chosen:


Potential nominees for "The 33rd Annual People's Choice Awards" were compiled with the help of Knowledge Networks, a leading market research company. Knowledge Networks used its panel, which is the only web-based market research panel that is representative of the entire U.S. population, to identify a pop-culture-involved sample of men and women ages 18-49. For each category, the respondents were provided with a set of candidates determined by national ratings averages, box-office grosses, and album sales. The respondents then chose their favorites in Television, Movies and Music. They also had the option to write-in their favorites where not included among the provided candidates. Their top three selections in each category became the final nominees.

Yep, I can too! Along with the song being popular, I think among the general public, the band has more of a likeability factor going for them over the other two.

Are you supposed to enter a code at the end of every category or just once when you go through all the categories? I'm wondering if you make a ballot for music and then move on to another division are your music votes lost?

No your music votes aren't lost, I don't believe. I know I've typed the word wrong (stupid case sensitive thing, lol) and my vote was still there when I went back to correct it. So, I think you could vote in all the categories and then enter the code when you are done and ready to submit your votes.
