I'm not sure what actually happened but some things to throw in to the pot:

1) Jerry Cohen – unspecified musical contribution
Andreas Carlsson – unspecified musical contribution
Samuel Waermo – unspecified musical contribution

in the credits lends a bit of credence that they played SOMETHING that made the record.

Desmond Child – co-producer
Andreas Carlsson – co-producer

I always found strange but figured it just meant the tracks they had co-written

2) What were the songs Marti Fredrickson was involved in co-writing? No Regrets and Lucky are the two that come to mind. One was fairly heavy, the other was a stick of poprock butter. Does that mean heavier songs were written?

3) Jon telling the label no ballads would make the album....does that mean he didn't feel like writing love songs or slower songs? Because one would imply Open All Night and You had me from Hello were added after the fact and there's footage of them recording those two with all the others. The fact that we have the Everyday demo and video footage of Jon talking about recording the demo in on of the BJ TVs, I don't know how Andreass could have written that alone.

Bounce was a mish mash of styles. I've heard the All About Loving You theories and it just sounds....too close to Never Say Goodbye and the chord changes they use, the re-use of "been around the block a time or two" from the same damn albums. I do notice it is one of a handful of songs we have no video footage of them working on. Not that that proves anything but in BJ TV you can see them working on Undivided, Everyday, The Distance, Right Side of Wrong, Open All Night, You Had Me From Hello, Bounce and MAYBE Misunderstood in the demos one.
