I don't hate Rihanna. I despise her.

Ok I'm no girly teeny bopper but credit where credit's due - the girl wrote and recorded a chart topping album at the tender age of what... 15/16? She's easily musically more impressive than any of these X Factor/American Idol pinups and she's now one of the top earners in the industry at 22 alongside a bunch of 40/50 year old men... I'm no big fan but if that's not the real deal... what is?

Apparently Lemmy is the real deal! Don't forget that Lemmy plays heavy rock music while Taylor Swift is a pop singer. People on this board can't handle this. Everything here has to be cycled around the 80s metal, otherwise your musical taste sucks. It has to be fast riffs, long hair and Jack Daniels. Pathetic

Yeah, so did Lady Gaga.
Honestly I have no interest in arguing about this, my point was more along the lines of "Bon Jovi is a rock band, they should be associated with the likes of Lemmy, not Taylor Swift."

Jeez, calm down I've already made my point about Lemmy, it had nothing to do with the things you listed above.

The only GnR member I ever heard of being onstage with Jovi was Steven Adler.
Really? He does speak quite positively of them in the few mentions there are of Jovi in his autobiography. Where did you hear that?

I remember an old interview with Jon (1993ish) where he talks about Duff's solo band and how they were hanging out and was impressed by them. And then the record label didn't let them tour with Jovi or something like that and they had to get someone else which I think were the Manic Street Preachers. But that would've been in the 1990s.

WHAT statement is that? Are you kiddin' me? God, it takes very little musical understanding to make a statement like that. Or very little brains. I hope for the first, cause if it's the second, you must have severe mental problems.

The rest of this post is a tribute to the man himself, not a response to you, DryCounty. Such statements as the one above, just disqualify you from any conversation related to music.

Lemmy is probably the most influential person in heavy rock history. Before Motorhead, he was in Hawkwind which was the most promising experimental band of the late 60s early 70s. To this day, I don't think there's ever been a band quite like that. If you haven't had time, listen to a couple of songs. It's like Jethro Tull meets Pink Floyd meets Led Zeppelin. Had they not fired Lemmy for drug abuse, they would have become just as big as those guys. Can only recommend them, without any irony here or anything like that. Incredible band and very influential and if you haven't listened to them, you are missing out on a lot.

And do I need to talk about Motorhead? It's basically the pre-cursor of heavy rock as we know it. Speed metal, trash metal, death metal - they're all Lemmy's babies. He brought Punk into metal all by himself. He changed the way people sing, move on stage, and understand the role of the bass. His bass-playing is absolutely out of this world. And then he is such a versatile songwriter. Ace of Spades is by all accounts an incredible song, no matter what DryBrain wrote above. Yes, he has written Killed By Death too. He has also written 'God Was Never on Your Side', 'I ain't no nice guy' or 'Whorehouse blues'. Anyone in his right frame of mind would hear that there is more talent in any of those songs than there is in all of Rihanna, Taylor Swift and whoever else together. In fact I am listening to the God Was Never on Your Side right now....it's such a deeply meaningful and moving song. Gives me shivers. And some people here have the guts to say it's all about "Jack Daniel's and Long hair". Then again, that person is an idiot. Still - it's all about the Music, moron!

Ahh - and on the good day, they can blow offstage any band in the world. Just look at this, the oooh soo funny Killed by Death.

Comparing Taylor with Gaga

Lady Gaga can't even write songs, and her popularity is decreasing. She's gonna be the new Tiffany/Debbie Gibson.
