Bon Jovi is the only band that consistently produces a majority of songs I enjoy. There are other artists that I have one or two CDs of that I really like those CDs and maybe a song or two off others, but with Bon Jovi, I like almost everything they do with the occassional disappoinment. I find that Bon Jovi's worst songs are better than a lot of other acts best songs. I absolutely LOVE Jon's voice. I could listen to him sing the alphabet song and be thrilled by the sound of his voice. I love that Bon Jovi isn't stagnant. If they were on the virge of releasing SWW part 9 I'd have checked out by part 3. I'm thrilled that they're trying new things on This Left Feels Right because I already enjoy so many types of music. But it always comes back to Bon Jovi--they consistently produce music I enjoy and songs I can relate to.

Wayyyyy back in the eighties....lol....BJ just crossed my life and I was hooked to them the very firdt minute. It never ended..it became more and more. Maybe somehow their liveshows are the most amazing ones I`ve seen and maybe because most of the songs somehow seem to touch me one way otr the other.
That doesn`t mean I don`t like any other bands..there are so many..but after a while I don`t think they are interesting any more. Jovi still is.
It became a way of life...

Why am I a fan of Bon Jovi? I've actually wondered that myself.

Not why did I become a fan in the first place? That's easy to answer. Because I loved the video for Bad Name the first time I saw it, bought SWW and loved the whole album.

But why have I remained a fan for over 17 years, bought every album and video they've released, travelled to see them in concert, joined the fanclub, collected bootlegs, post on message boards & even created a fansite for them?

I guess it's just because as a band they keep producing music I enjoy. And as an individual, Jon has appeared in acting roles I've liked. And as people they do not come across as obnoxious, high on themselves and annoying (like some celebrities), but rather as friendly and likeable, and despite having more wealth than I can even imagine, and having friends (and wives) who are movie stars, models, athletes & politicians, still manage to display an element of "down to earthness" that us commoners can relate to.

But despite their personalities, it really must be the music that has kept me a fan for all these years, or their albums would be tucked away with the albums of lots of other talented (and charismatic) performers that I liked for a while, then never played again.

Because BJ is the only band where I like the big mayority of songs and where I don't get tired to hear them. Even though I sometimes don't listen to BJ for weeks or longer I always come back to their music.
I think this says it all for me......

And it's a combination of good music, great musicians, great live performances etc. Not just because Jon is so sexy... (it is a nice extra thing ) but it is the combination. I also like the solo albums, but it's just not BON JOVI, the complete thing.

I'v considered myself a REAL fan for about a year now, and I'm trying to think back to what made them appeal to me in the first place. I guess it's the catchy songs that I can't get enough of. Then there's the endurence factor (20 years! Wow!). Also, they're originals. They don't have may dirty songs or "I hate the world" songs. They have this optimistic view on life that they put into their music. Very few artists do that. I also like the level of honesty in their songs. They're autobiographical songs, but almost anyone can relate.

Default why am I am jovi fan?

God there are so many reasons, where should I begin. I have been a fan since 1984, the beginning, the start of it all. The music hit me, the harmony, yes Jon was gorgeous too, but thats not why I became a fan, I heard them before I saw what they looked like. The connection between these guys is incredible and something that I love to see. They are brothers that have made this band work for the past 20 years, no matter what has happened between them. Guarantee you love to see good looking members in a band, it makes for a better reason to buy their posters and such, but these guys are different, they have a brotherhood that cannot be explained. They are just like you and me, they have families that depend on them, they have problems, and coach lil league too. They are real, and that has gotten me through some tough times in the past, it really has, I respect everything that this band does and has done. I listen to interviews with jon and ritchie, I feel connected to these guys in a way that I cant explain.
They arent in this business to make money, they are in it for the love of the fans and music, and not too many bands do it for that reason, ya know.
I feel like the band connects with their fans like no other. They are true americans and have done things that no other band has been privledged to do, like open for the football season, no one else has done that, that makes me proud to say I am a jovi fan, cause I love football too. They take their work very seriously , but no to seriously like before, which is good. This band really cares about the fans and that makes me feel like I am a part of something really special.
This is why I am a jovi fan, and have been all these years.

Why am I a fan?? Because I really enjoy their music. It makes me happy. I know that sounds childish, but it's the truth. Their music makes me feel good. I never get tired of hearing their songs (well, at least most of them ). It's been 18 years now, and I still fill that same joy when I hear a Bon Jovi song on the radio as I did when I was 12. I love Jon's voice, espcially when he's singing with Richie and you get those incredible harmonies. :P I don't ever remember hearing a band and enjoying their music with such intensity as when I first heard Bon Jovi. Plus, I liked them. I don't mean their looks, but I liked the way they would act in videos or when I saw them on television. You could see this incredible bond with them.

I became a fan by accident. As I explained in one of my earlier posts, I used to see Richie around town before he was famous and had a major crush on him. He was a few years older than me but I didn't care. I knew his name was Richie, knew where he lived and that he taught guitar in Woodbridge. I went to a local diner and saw his picture on the wall with the band. I figured let me give them a listening to. After that I was hooked and then he became huge and I never saw him around anymore. He had quite a reputation with the girls. When he played the local bars, he always went home with someone! Geez, that was 1985!

Hum... let me think lol I became a fan back in 1995 when a friend of mine made me listen to KTF, i remember to listen Bed of Roses and In These arms for hours with her Then a few time later i bought These Days and completely fell in love for the music, started buying all of their records and discovered Bon Jovi were the best band ever!!! Not an exciting story, but...

I'm from New Jersey - I think Jon said in an interview once that if you lived in New Jersey and didn't like Bruce Springsteen - your taxes went up. Well - same goes for Bon Jovi.
I was introduced personally to the music by my (then) young son in the late 80's - playing very loud in his bedroom. Since I grew up on 60's rock and roll - I recognised New Jersey (the album lol) as music that I loved. I listened to the older albums and really liked them and the rest is history. The live concerts are great. It also doesn't hurt that there are not too many bands that play that type of music anymore either.
