Wow... good question.. I guess first and foremost the music, I knew Bon Jovi all through my teens, only became a fan about 7 years ago and then mainly because live they are such a great band - great charisma but great chemistry on stage. I also love a band that has staying power and isn't afraid to try something new and evolve.

Well..

I never took to bands like take that and bros, I had a penfriend in Canada who sent me a copy of Keep The Faith.

I thought is was the heaviest music I had ever heard..lol .loved Dry County straight away.

That year Bon Jovi did a live concert broadcast on Radio One. I loved it. From then it seemed Bon Jovi were everywhere with music videos and I started following their chart sucess with Keep The Faith.

I saw Bon Jovi live for the Crossroads tour and the music has been special ever since.

I just realised... Officially, now, (and for quite a while, actually) I've been a Bon Jovi fan for over half of my lifetime.

"They said it won't last, but they misunderstood..."

I still find it funny, I can hear my Dad (and my friend's Dad, especially) saying in a very patronising manner that "we'd grow out of it", "it's just a phase", "how old are you, thirteen?" (that was last year!) etc...

Blame it on the love of r'n'r etc...

My mother still asks me when I'm going to grow up and quit listening to "that music" LOL. I think it's hopeless at my age - I'm as grown up as I'm going to get

Simply because I like a lot of their songs. IML and Crush made me a fan in June 2000. Unfortunately it's been down hill for the band since then, but the pre-2000 albums are fantastic, save the first two and for me have established Bon Jovi a great rock band.

lol that is exactly what my mom says when she visits... I know when you grow up , when you have grown out of bon jovi... I think she accepts now it wont happen... she even joins in with comments on what she does like about Jovi now. Its weird because what is it about music that makes you childish, I dont see it as any different from her liking gardening.

Hmm...

Let's see. When I was a kid living at home with Mum, Dad, my Big Brother and Big Sister, I wanted to be just like them...as kids do. My sister is 12 years older, my brother (who sadly passed away aged 22 in 1994) 9 years older.

So...I used to hear Bon Jovi mixed with GnR, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Motley Crue etc etc. You know the stuff - my Mum and Dad loved (and still do love) it all too so I got it from all angles!

So I listened to it too, I used to think it was big and cool to listen to rock music!

I got a bit older, listened to some other music and things but then one day Always came on the radio while I was over a friends house. I was just stunned and fell head over heels with Jons voice, the music, the feeling of the band. I dug out all of those old cassettes that were laying around the house and videos, and got the bug - BIG time. I guess I was about 13/14 around then.

So...that's my story!
