It seems like on most fan boards these days Newbies get hazed for a while. Whether it be verbally or thier posts/comments ignored. At least until the "regulars" get to know them.
Not here. Every opinion counts. We are better than the rest of those crazy boards. Welcome.

Looking back on that comment I guess it does seem kinda negative. Which wasn't my intention. I guess that was an unfair generalization I was making. So if you took it that way I apologize.

I know what you are saying, but I think it is just normal human behavior (though not the hazing part). One needs to 'get to know' people before interaction is appropriate/desired/feels comfortable. Though it shouldn't matter to the poster. You have an opion, you voice it. It's much more important to have an opinion than not to have one. Regardless of which way it goes

I really do like this board with all the corky characters and I'd hate to see people being intimitated by it (though I know it is more of a general statement you made than specifically to DC) or making people hesitant to voice their opinions. If that was the case, we'd be the backstage board :P

Welcome!

Well I've read the whole thread and here's my opinion:

I've never seen a live BJ act, because honestly I was too young to even know who they were last time they did come so I can't really say anything about the autopilot thing.

Being a hair metal fan I definetley love Slippery When Wet and New Jersey and since I love good lyrics, I adored Keep the Faith. These Days is an alright album, there's some great songs like Hey God and My Guitar Lies Bleeding in My Arms but it's not my favorite. As for Crush and Bounce, I do like the albums and I think there's some tracks I really like on both, call me a teeny bopper if you want but I really like Bounce, I think the album's great minus the ballads. My favorite album's still New Jersey though.

As for the band doing this only for the money, I don't think so. If it were only for the money they probably would've split up already.

Just giving out my opinion...

Don't get me wrong, I think These Days is a really good album, but the thing is that I don't listen to it much unless I'm feeling down. I just prefer more lively songs I guess!

I guess as has been pointed out it all comes down to tastes doesnt it? Because if each of us listed our favourite albums there would be a hell of a lot of very different lists and very different reasons why.

I have never thought of BJ as a hard rock band so I am not looking for that aspect. But for someone like seb he is obviousely seeking that elusive quality about them that he has felt before but can no longer find.

I do think Jon works on auto pilot alot.. he is sometimes a cliche himself. Its like he says what he thinks should be said about a rock n roll band and not what actually is.

For me personally I loved TD and KTF as albums so thats what I would love them to get backto style wise.

The new album may be rock it may not. Its irrelevant to me, its whether its good or not that counts.

I know many will be screaming blue murder about how they promised some hard rocking album and theres only these handful of rockier songs. But I mean whats that about if say those rockier songs were crap and the other ones were bloody brilliant?? I guess I will judge the album after I hear it and rate it as I always do their albums. I like to be hopeful about it but I have to be honest and say I am a bit sceptical but thats got nothing to do with rock or not its to do with bad songs.

He doesn't get a chance. Bon Jovi shows nowadays are so throughly planned out, computerized and tied to a tempo that he doesn't get a chance. Every once in a while he treis to alter a solo, but with 8 bars there's not a lot you can do. Back in the day he was given a lot more freedom to play. Now, with all the video screens, backing tracks and computerized lighting, the whole band has to follow the plan.

Most performers are not autopiloting. Only the ones that doesnt give a sh1t about the fans are. What comes jovi performing, everything is so planned out, even the chit-chat between the songs, it sure is autopiloting. And sucks.

of course everything is so planned out its a show u have to perform it spot on in front of thousands , if you didnt auto pilot the whole thing would go wrong. Dont u think performing can become boring at times also, because it can , its a job like any other.

On the whole I think he does his auto piloting very well .
