I love LFS. It's a nice fun end to the album, and Tico sings on it too which adds that bit of magic.

Be gone naysayers

I love all of the songs on the album. I wish Ride Cowboy Ride was longer and not crappy sound quality. Love for Sale is really cool, I think.

I see what some are saying about the way RCR was recorded. I cant stand the scratchiness on it. Bugs the shit out of me.

I might give LFS one more listen but I couldn't touch RCR. Its too quiet, for one! Wild Is The Wind is all loud, then RCR comes on and it's really quiet and then when it finishes the music starts up loud again! Grr...

Oh my, first it's loud, then it's soft, then it's loud again! What to do with that volume button on your remote now?

Salaam Aleikum,

Both great songs, though RCR is probably best listened to in the context of the album (or a concert).

Not only do they show the band in a time when (as previously mentioned) they were less calculated, they also show them at a time when they truly knew themselves and their sound, without exception. Which, for me, is something they have lost ever since Crush... but that's another subject.

Jon & Richie always recorded songs with 2 acoustics and a mono tape recorder. The similarities between some songs will come from the fact that Ride Cowboy Ride was discarded early on in the demo process as it had some crossover with Stick To Your Guns. However, thinking completely out of the box and riding high on the confidence from SWW, Jon decided it worked bridge into STYG and by leaving it in it's original form the band took a massive risk but also ingeniously let the listener know that this was not a bona-fide track. It also let the fans have an insight into how a Bon Jovi album begins... two guys in a room with acoustics. This is why I love it.

LFS is professionally recorded during a piss-up... it flicks my switches because it has some the most amazing acoustic playing Richie has ever recorded. The dynamics alone make my nuts shrink, let alone the speed sheer joy of hearing a bluesman just play the blues...

The only thing is, I have to skip two of the worst songs they have ever recorded - Ride Cowboy Ride and Love For Sale.

Seriously, how do those songs fit on the album? I skip them everytime. I have heard less than 30 seconds of RCR and I turned it off and haven't listened to it since. I heard LFS once and hated it.

These are the only two songs that ruin the album for me.

Opinions? Hopefully someone feels the same.
LFS is one of the best songs of NJ
Ride Cowboy Ride is also a great song

Hey Tigrs 'member me? A little while ago you tweeted a website with "2010 bootlegs for sale" to your followers that I know you've gotten for free and asked you why you were looking to rip fans off?

I also seem to remember your countless tweets badmouthing Jovitalk and all of us on here particularly Seb and I sign in and loook, here you are! Can't be so bad of a place, right?

The loud/quit thing... well, that's how it's supposed to be! You have the mellow RCR, and then suddenly "Stick To Your Guns" kicks in and rocks you off your feet. I get goosebumps everytime!

Ride Cowboy Ride was meant purley for an intro to Stick To Your Guns. When I first listened to it I thought what a load of bollocks, but if you treat it as only an intro then you get over it. I replaced the album version with a live version recorded back on the NJ tour, which is so much better. It's actually a good little song.

As for Love For Sale then I don't agree one bit. I think it's a great song. I know it's a piss take, but it's a good light hearted little number and very well contructed. Richie's acoustic work is very good and I think Jon's vocals are good on it too. It shows another side of the band.
