Everything about The Album NEW JERSEY is perfect!!!

I never listen to RCR as a single song, only as intro. It works the best as an intro to Stick To Your Guns of course. Live they used it as intro to Wanted (Nov 1988 - Jun 1989) and years later as intro to Blaze Of Glory (US legs of Crush and OWN tours).
I don't know ecactly when these two song (Ride Cowboy Ride and Stick To Your Guns) were written and I also don't know when the first Young Guns movie was filmed (sometime in 198 but lyrically - I see them being about Billy The Kid. Probably I'm wrong, because Jon started thinking about Billy later with Blaze Of Glory... but there is little chance - the movie and the album were in the same year, Jon likes cowboy theme and Knockin' On Heaven's Door was out for some time as well, so migh have thought about Billy while writing these songs.
I also like the way RCR is recorded - sounds like two drunk and desperate cowboys singing in a motel, bad quality of the recording creates the atmosphere and then the amazing opening riff of Stick To Your Guns kicks in.

Love For Sale - the demo is even better. Well, the demo is also the final recording, only longer. i love their comments during the song. Fun song with funny lyrics, it makes the album complete.

And the next time somebody tells you: ‘You can’t do that’ you can tell them to screw themselves, because it’s your life and you do what the hell you want with it. So this is a song about having a dream and chasing it, till you find the Bright Lights." - Aldo Nova.

I love both RCR and Love For Sale, both integral parts of the unquestionable (IMO) Jovi masterpiece that is New Jersey. They never have, and never will top that record IMO.
As others have said, RCR is supposed to serve as a old time cowboy movie intro to STYG, right down to the Captain Kidd and The King of Swing credits in the liner notes.
As for LFS, it's just fun pure and simple.

Here's the version of RCR that I replaced for the album version. I think it's a really version of it.

I love RCR...
it even looks like a recording directly from the basement, ya know what I mean...I really like the way it was recorded.
And yea, it's an intro for STYG that worked really well..
As for LFS Im not very much into that one, but I like it.
The only song I dislike of NJ is 99...

Ride cowboy, ride.
You want to be a big shot.
Baby, come on.
Ride, ride, ride"

And opening one from Stick to your guns are like a reply saying

"So you want to be a cowboy
Well you know it's more than just a ride"

I think its one of the more cleverer things jon & Richie have ever done

Yea, its one of the cleverer things they have done...
but it's a shame they dont use it anymore...
I dont mean as an intro for STYG cause they dont sing this one, but as an intro for Wanted...
