Yes, but they didn't write those songs to make a hit. They just pick their most commercial songs to release.

Salaam Aleikum,

just like Bon jovi did back in 95 with these days...

Idon't understand why bands do that sort of thing....

But then again, Paul Mcartney is charging £75 for tickets on his tour! He's the richest rock star, yet he still sells out his fans. Some people who still get a glimps of the £ will sell their souls. That's why by and large the best music now is played and written by bands who don't have comercial success.

The existing fans are the ones who will continue to see them live. Just having a reputation for being a great live act isn't going to get most people to pay $75 to see them...especially if they aren't already fans. There is nothing wrong with promoting yourself.

I don't see anything wrong with the way the band are handling themselves and their careers. As long as I continue to like what the band puts out, that's all that matters to me. If that makes me shallow and commercial, so be it...I like what I like.

i agree all the way. we know what they are able to do as songwriters but they have turned very commercial. and that's what destroying them. but we don't know if they can exist without being in the charts. things have changed in the music industry..... everything comes and goes very fast.

many bands exist without being in the charts

they are still amongst the richest bands of all time (and musicians) - deep purple, even McCartney, Paul Rodgers...

the only difference for BJ would be that they'd be playing arenas instead of stadiums

Continue yes..... but as as a % of the crowd go, I'm sure that quite a amount are just fans who know the last two singles (I'm talking about over half!!!)..... As long as they are still giving glimpses of how good they can be they'll still be able to tour, because the fans will go..... but still, they should be giving more than the bare min to attract fans.

I think that bj should promote themselves any way they see fit and quite frankly who are we to judge, a true fan will always stand by their band ups or downs but please some of you don't even put them into the same catergory as britney spears or mariah carey. BJ are legends and will be going for a lot more yrs to come but where will these so called other singers be, in the rubbishe pile with all the other washed up singers who have not been able to stick it. If u don't have something positive to say then don't say anything at all so far there has only been one person on this board who seems to be a real BJ fan.
