Why do ppl dislike bon jovi so much?

I know lots of people who like Bon Jovi who I didn't expect to..

I told my friend to check out the website and see what it looks like, and they heard part of everyday play..now they are hooked.

Plus, lots of my ENEMIES like Bon Jovi. It's pretty neat.

I think it's exactely that, and you know with time (because i'm old...so old...! ), you just think, people like or not BJ, and no matter, I love them, you just let them with their music, sure it's s***t, but that's their problem, you see, i'm saying the same thing about what they like, taste is not the same for everyone, BUT sometimes it's annoying me more than others days and i explose !!! just tell them your thoughts

I have the same problems - Had them for a while.

It's simple - People get pissy because they were making fun of them in the 90's, when all the other 80's bands were falling apart and Bon Jovi was still around. Now, they're still around and still popular. It pisses them off, because any of the music they listen to will never be around as long and will never have the same success as Bon Jovi.

Simply put - Jealousy.

I agree with Sambo-Laura. They are no metal band and they are no all sweet pop band. And that´s good, but people in general won´t like that. People are always into extremes, you know? Either only some neat and clean Pop Music or only dark Gangsta Rap or only really hard Nu Metal... I´m personally are mainly into good old RnR, but if there´s a good song from another direction, I´ll accept it and listen to it, no matter what others think. Many probably just don´t want to admit that they like some Jovi stuff, cause it´s not "cool"

I think, that quite a few people would like Bon Jovi if they would know their albums/live shows/etc.
There are a lot of people, who put down BJ and I had the **** taken out of me for liking them. But in the end - who cares? I mean, who cares about the opinion of somebody who loves Britney or N Sync?
On the other hand, I had a lot of positive feedback from people I didn´t expect to like BJ at all!! For example my last year´s French teacher is a huge Jovi fan, which really surprised me. And also, last week in our sports lesson I wore one of my Jovi-T-shirts and almost everybody said that they love their new single Misunderstood and that IML and Thank you were great, too. And usually when Prayer or Bad Name or Always on the radio everyone knows those songs and some can even sing along!

Well, as everyones been saying, the only reason anyone puts them down is because they don't think they are "cool." I don't understand it either though. I was at a party once and after about about 20 pop songs and after about 30 modern day rock songs came on, It's My Life came on and some guy made some smart ass remark about Bon Jovi which got people talking. I won't mention what they said but I was angry...

I was at my friends house the other day and he was playing all these nu-metal songs, most of which were shit and the rest were way below the quality of many of BJ's songs. Anyway he was commenting on how awesome his music was and I asked him if he had any Bon Jovi. All he could reply was "No, they suck". So I asked him if he had actually heard any songs of theirs and he said he'd heard a few but couldn't remember them...... So basically for many, they just don't even knowledge to back up what they're saying... or what they're missing for that matter

Todays youth are like robots, if someone says something is not cool or that it sucks, then many of them will follow and soon people will just be saying it sucks because it's like a trend not to like it...

people these days especially younger are either into cheesy pop or thet nu-metal crap. I agree with what was said earlier that alot of the non bon jovi fans probably do like the music but it isn't cool to like them!!

LIKE I'VE SAID A MILLION TIMES! I TOLD YOU WHY NOBODY LIKES BON JOVI! because their music is poppy, semi-rock, they came out of a decade which most people beleived they shouldn't have come out of and were succesful, and most people don't aprreciate the fact that you have 4 attractive men ( as hard as that is to say) with perfect lives singing about how hard their's are. this personally doesnt bug me, but ive done the research this is why people don;t like them. there's more but i've written it too many times to write it again!

In this day and age we live in, it seems that a majority of my friends are into rock, punk, or rap. Now, the upside to this is many of the rock fans I know are really into bands like Weezer, Creed, etc. And mind you, those are all good bands. However, many of them have never even heard a Bon Jovi song. So I take it upon myself to advertise. And usually, once they hear it, they're hooked. Then there's the punk fans. I know at least one who really likes Misunderstood (not really a punk song though) which is good. But most of them always claim that the band is too old for them and they'd rather listen to a bunch of spikey green haired men scream along with loud disorganized noise. I usually reply with, "They're not old...just older." To old...goodness me... And then there's the rap fans. It seems that rappers have made them believe that the only good kind of music is rap. Upbeat, powerful, emotional music is bad. Listen to nothing but us. Well, I can't argue with they're tastes, but they're really missing out.

Why don't people like Bon Jovi? I really don't know. They have so many good things going for them: amazing music, great lyrics, kicking live shows, etc. But if they'd rather listen to their rap, that's their problem. I have disccovered Bon Jovi, and that's all that matters. I do my best to support the band and make their presence known. Sometimes I am successful, and sometimes I am not. But no matter what people say, I know that Bon Jovi rocks.
