This isn't about people, it's about discussion, so let's keep it at that.
Your post though seems to almost be implying that those who dislike the song are just in denial... I assure you, nothing could be further from the truth. We really despise the single this much, and I am someone who considers Have A Nice Day as one of his favorite albums from the band. Plain and simple.
Let me break down how my thought process specifically works. Our opinion is the song sucks because musically, the song is (and the following is not opinion but fact, and I will use 'non-offensive' words to underscore this):
1. The music work is extremely simple and by-the-book, even by Bon Jovi's standards. There's no stretching out, no flexing of the musical talent they almost surely have. Compare even another post-2000 song, Make A Memory, to this. Make A Memory has an interesting build, it has some creativity. Whole Lot of Leaving has a very distinct mix. This song meanwhile is absolutely as conservative as a song can get.
2. The production is extremely generic. Compare it to Have A Nice Day, which stands out quite a bit as a song, or It's My Life, which is unmistakably Bon Jovi (note: I love both songs). WWBTF sounds like it could be from any band to me.
From these two facts, I've concluded (my opinion now) that the song is shit; that is indeed embarrassing for me to call myself a Bon Jovi fan and listen to this. It is Lost Highway LIGHT, which is something I didn't even think was possible. At least Lost Highway had a good solo. As a Bon Jovi fan, I am ****ing embarrassed when Jon yells "guitar", and Richie proceeds to do absolutely nothing. To me, that's like watching some old geezer jump into a crowd of teenagers and try to act cool, to absolutely no avail.
Furthermore, though I still hope it does not represent the album, time and trends would indicate it will. With that data in hand, my opinion becomes even more pessimistic.
Look, that's why I hate the song, and I suspect that's why many feel the same. That's how I analyze music, and the songs from Bon Jovi I love are the opposite of those two observations. If someone listens to music for different reasons, and comes to like the song, that's their prerogative.
I'm still a fan because I know, at their best, they can write and perform as well as anyone. I'm still a fan because I love the music from them that I still enjoy, to the point where they become more than just the average band to me, so I enjoy posting on a message board about them. Is that really so hard to fathom?
PS thanks for props

I think you misunderstand what I'm asking. I asked why is it that people who, in general,
slate the band and mostly everything post 2000, keep posting. I never said they weren't entitled to. I just asked.
My post wasn't aimed specifically at RSROCKS at all. I know plenty of others dislike/hate the new song too. My questions were relevant (or irrelevant) to anyone and everyone who wants to read them and answer them. But if what i asked does not apply to you, why take exception to it? ( TO CLARIFY: IF YOU
DON'T HATE/BITCH/MOAN ABOUT
MOST ASPECTS OF BON JOVI POST 2000, THEN WHY THINK MY QUESTIONS WERE DIRECTED AT YOU? THEY WEREN'T!!)
I can't be arsed getting into the merits of what makes a song musically better than the next. Bob Dylan can take a few simple chords and make a masterpiece. Is that flexing
musical creativity?
The point i tried to make was WWBTF is not too dissimilar to a lot of songs found on post 2000 albums, and if those albums are "shit" as a few people in here keep telling us, then why after 9yrs keep posting? When is enough, enough? I could perhaps understand someone
really disliking WWBTF if it had come straight after
These Days. But we've all heard enough albums this decade to realise that this is the "type" of song the band do nowadays.
How is that implying people are in denial??
The very first reply to my original post suggested it was only wrote to cause trouble and therefore would be locked. Is that how this forum works? Those who openly slag the band, some continually, are given free reign to say as they please, and those who question why they do, get accused of shit stirring? If we're all entitled to our opinions, what's the problem?
The ironic thing is, had WWBTF been an outtake we'd probably have some of those people who
are slating it, instead slating the band for NOT including it on a particular album.
Again, to clarify: I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong for disliking something, I was just asking why those who constantly complain about being disappointed and let down continue to bother their arses posting about the band. Is THAT really so hard to fathom?
