There were 26 posts prior to his reply. There's a difference between reading an initial thread starter (or title) compared to 3 pages of replies. Perhaps i should have made that clear, but either way, the point that i didn't say he couldn't critique the thread is still valid.

A large majority of the negativity on this board comes in the way of single posts, that is to say they are part of threads that perhaps didn't start off negative, rather people just give their views, so therefore how can i be accused of double standards when i have no idea what a particular post is going to say in relation to the thread it's in??

I'll give you an example. You started a thread titled "What's the worst part of We Weren't Born To Follow?" I haven't read it, nor have i posted in it telling you what a ridiculous thread it is. If i had, then your suggestion of double standards would surely hold more merit. Can you understand that logic, Sebastiaan?

Didn't the TITLE of my thread give a BIG indication of what it was about? No? Oh well......

What exactly are you hoping to achieve with this? Are you expecting people to suddenly go "My God, he's right, I'm wasting my life"?

Why does anyone post on here? Why are people who post negative comments wasting their time any more than those who post positive comments?

Not many people think the band are s**t. They just don't like most of the stuff since 2000. You on the other hand, may love it. Like me, like many others, but that doesn't mean people can't voice their opinion if they don't like certain songs.

Fair enough, sometimes I reply back to other people not agreeing with their opinions, but that's because I voice my opinion about it. Not to cause arguments, just to say what I think as well.

I have a theory.... suddenly JT is bombarded with apparant 'new' visitors who post negative comments relating to the latest BJ song etc....

I find it difficult to believe that these 'new' posters are BJ fans who have heard this record and suddenly found JT and have to comment ... it makes more sense to me that these negative comments are coming from BS , they cant comment negatively on their own paid for forum as it would be quickly removed/shot down by other BSers, so they have no choice but to air their views here ...

Take it as a compliment that JT embraces freedom of speech.

first of all.nice thread...if a bj fan accidentally were to wander upon some forums.he/she would have had a hard time figuring out whether it was a fan site or a bon jovi haters union.
i know where the people who dont like this song are coming from.like the reasons "wrath mania" listed.lets hear the whole album when it comes out and then say,if jon actually lied about the riff rock record.its not a sin to include one iml clone in the album ,imo.

As far as Jovi fans go this place is a sanctuary compared to Backstage, thats why theres so much apparent negativity on here, however we ought to focus on the freedom and honesty that we enjoy because you'd be banned on Backstage fairly sharpish if you displayed any on there!

There can't be a single person around here who thinks the post 2000 stuff is better than the pre-20 00 stuff, its a given. Yes they have done some good songs in the last decade but to me you could make 1 great album of the post 2000 only.
HOWEVER - to be on here you must have some love/respect/interest in the band and that entitles you to an opinion.

Deep down we all know that Jon and Richie are capable of writing heartfelt music, some of it loud and rockin' and some of it quiet and touching, however they seem stuck in the mode of writing what they think people want to hear as opposed to what they want to put out. The only time they didn't do that was with 'Faith' and 'These Days', ironically their best two albums.
Theyve done it again with WWBTF which to me sounds like 'The Killers', a band that is hugely popular at the moment and a band we know Jon admires.
I just wish they would write a cd without thinking about what we want to hear.

However - lets enjoy the honesty that we have on this board and welcome the differences of opinions.

Cause usually, positive posts come from people who are happy with the new material, therefor happy and when something makes you happy, it's better to continue doing it to keep feeling happy

Negative posts are 'i think' comming from disappointed, therefor unhappy people. Rather then staying envolved in doing things that result in and/or are the result of disappointment you might consider doing other things that give you a positive mood.

Some people are happy being critical. I don't think anyone's actually so upset over the new Bon Jovi single that they are going to kill themselves or anything

I like the song and I liked Lost Highway (album) as a whole...

I honestly think sometimes I have missed out and I should give up. Given the stick I get socially for liking what people brand an "80s band". When these people have no idea of the stuff Jovi have released since 1990. So for people who also share the love of Jovi, shouldn't we be defending the band given how much people criticize them in the main stream.

If you like the old stuff more, then yeah, post how much you like it but do you really have to slag off the stuff that newer fans are getting to know and love. It is the way music moves, it changes...80s Bon Jovi is different from 90s Bon Jovi because that is how music changed, it became darker and deeper and thus, so did Bon Jovi's releases like These Days and Keep the Faith.

The way music is now may not please some of you but that is how it is and how it has changed so Bon Jovi collectively as smart business men and smart musicians know they should adapt by keeping the same sound but in a different style.

I don't aim to offend people as I don't spend a lot of time on here but that is just my opinion of the trash talking as it were.
