Default Why Do You Still Post If The Band Are So Shit?

I like the new song. Nothing about it suggests we're in for a "riff rock" album, but so what? It could be a radio edit or it could be the finished article. It's one song. Shall we just wait and see how it appears on the album release? This nonsense that it's "embarrassing" is bewildering. (how very controversial though, hey..... ) It may not be what you wanted as a lead single, but it wouldn't be out of place on most post 2000 albums, would it?

That said, if you're not impressed by those types of songs/albums, why are you STILL posting in here? It's been 14 long years since These Days. Those of you that slag the song, indeed the band, should maybe be asking yourselves why you still end up posting hundreds, sometimes thousands of posts about a band that have dissapointed you for so many years. Oh yeah, you're "real" fans, right?

I just don't understand why you spend your time moaning about a band that in your eyes, fail to deliver with nearly every release. Have you nothing better to do? (btw I'm not suggesting that you're not entitled to keep posting, just asking the question WHY) Sure, you may still enjoy seeing them live. Great. Go and watch them. (and even then sometimes bitch about them!) But why spend so much time on them in a forum? How many posts does it take for you to say you don't like what this band have become?

To suggest like some have in the past few days that WWBTF is "embarrassing" or that most "die hard" fans aren't really arsed about Studio material anymore is contradictory to the continual posting you do about a band that last produced something of substance nearly a decade and a half ago. (your own musings)

I rarely post here anymore, not because i don't agree with negative comments per say, more because it grates when the same people bang on and on and on about how shit this or that is. You've had 9 years to digest that this band isn't what it once was. 9 F*CKIN YEARS!!!
It's getting boring constantly hearing about the "die hard" fans wanting this and that. Life changes. The band have moved on and if that's not to your liking fair enough. But for every "die hard" who falls away, another new generation of fan finds the band and their music. That's just the way it is.

On the subject of fans, why do those of you who worship the 80's and 90's music assume those who like the post 2000 albums are not "real" fans? It's ridiculous. A hefty post count does not prioritise who is more of a fan. By all means keep banging the drum about how shitty the band have become, but don't look down on those who happen to like this "souless" music.

This thread may well go unnoticed. It may well draw a response out of the usual suspects. (Seb, you there?) Whatever. We're all entitled to our opinions. This is mine. I do wonder whether RSROCKS will pull out the usual "this is wrong on soooooo many levels" quip?????

I'm happy that i still enjoy the band. I've been to a LOT of Jovi gigs over the past 20yrs. I have all their albums. I have LOTS of memerobilia. Does any of that matter? No, not really. It's 2009 and this is where the band are at. It's been (at least) 9yrs in the making. It shouldn't be a shock.

And before someone says that they still live in hope, or that the touring is what appeals to them. Get real. You tolerate 9yrs of "drivel" in the hope of that ever elusive album? 9yrs of hoping the band dust off Hey God or I Believe during a gig? That alone justifies you posting almost DAILY about a band you think is pretty much "devoid of ideas"? That are "going through the motions"? That "don't care" about their "real" fans anymore? Really??

So much nonsense has been wrote on this site recently. I even read someone slagging Jon for wearing a suit while singing a song about the poor state of the economy. (WFTWM) WTF?

So, working along those lines, should Stephen King be a serial killer in order for his books to be more realistic? BTW What do you want Jon to sing about? Quantum mechanics? Primordial black holes? Is it not reasonable for him to sing or write about things he may think actually affects the people who listen to his music? What a c*nt.......

Just to summarise, i'm a fan since Slippery and i LIKE the new song. A lot. BOO-HOO!!

EDIT: Wrath Mania's thread was funny. Just his. Hugh the "mannequin" bit made me laugh so much.
