Ah, business makes little sense

Nope. The scarcer a resource is the more people will want it. Even if they couldn't care less before....

People feel they are missing something if everybody else is trying to see a show, but them. Plus they feel they are part of an exclusive clan if they got in....

Same weird shit with free stuff - people grab it by the armloads even though they don't even want it. But they do cause it's free.

Granted, the 2 shows on July 18th and 19th may, and probably will sell out, but they haven't yet.

For some reason that bothers me. It's like trying to give the band more kudos (right word?) than they've earned.

These press releases really get on my nerves. They are so quick to blow the bands trumpet with regards to HAND and the tour, when it has been less than spectacular by Bon Jovi standards. What exactly has been record breaking about this tour? The only Bon jovi tour that I would call record-breaking was the These Days tour, not only due to the numbers of people that attended, but the sheer number of Countries they toured in!

And how many times do we need to be told they have sold 100 milion records?!

Well so far none of the UK shows have completely sold out. AEG or whatever they are called have strected Bon Jovi having 7 dates over here.

Southampton has sold out but that's the smallest venue.
And the only other date in Europe to sell out is the one in Austria! Not all the Japanese dates sold out either, so the only place things have really gone well tour wise is in America.

That was what I thought as well. Reading now the explanation given by others I see a little sense in it, but sill I find it silly. But then again I always knoew my mind was shaped for business

Probably until they reach 200 million.

In all seriousness, I agree. Why don't they update. They've been at 2,500 shows for 3 tours now. How about saying 2,700 show, and 105 million records, in front of 40 million people? At this point, that would be more accurate.

I believe all the stats given about sales and stuff, and yeah, they are one of the biggest bands in the world, for sure, no doubt....but one thing that always makes me cringe is that in every article or press release, the thing at the end (same as with the new press release) mentions 100 million albums sold, this many concerts, etc etc.

I know it's press, and I don't hate them for it, but I feel they're writing that as if selling millions of records should convince people that they're a legitimate and good band, and like, "look, see, we're good, people like us"

They have millions of fans, and I think that last part always tries too hard to prove it to people, or convince them of Bon Jovi's worth, when they don't need to...
