It's hard to discuss it with a person who has been shot 41 times though for having a wallet in their pocket.
I guess it would be.

What I meant was he discussed it with the "victims" family and not the police officers. That is what I meant by being one-sided.

I think it was 2000??? It all blends together when you get old. LOL

surely you can remember if it was 3 years ago or last year though?

the dvd is great... keeps crowd noise on too at beginning...

(incidentally the concert for new york edited out the boos for hilary clinton and replaced them with cheers)

My brother was at The Concert NY, I know. They also edited out the boo's for the fire commissioner. LOL

I go with 2000, I don't think I saw him last year.

LetItRock, I can't even remember what I ate for lunch yesterday!! Hee hee.

Any post instigated by krb102 is far from intellligent and worthy of debate, just by sheer fact that it was posted by krb102. Nuff said.

It's a good discussion group, and while i didn't agree 100% with him, most people did and feel the same as he did so you also have to have a go at them...

it was a decent discussion

People don't feel the same way about me as you do, I thought you would've realised that by now. ANyway, if you want to continue this discussion, please do so by PM so this thread doesn't go off topic.

If I were him I'd do it.

Why do you think Rage against the machine got big?? because they stepped up and said that this government sucks....

If I were him I'd go up and say:

F U C K George "HITLER" Bush!!!!!

Hi all.....yes, yes, I only have 1 post so far...I migrated over from bonjovi.com - mainly because I'd like to discuss things other than "ooo isn't Jon cute"...so here I am. OK...to throw my hat in the ring from the off....I think that in general it is wrong for artists to use their stage for politics. The main problem is that many bands/singers (Bon Jovi included) have a large younger audience...who are quite impressionable. For proof that people believe anything Jon says, just go over to Bonjovi.com....scarey stuff sometimes. Some people will blindly follow what an artist says, without finding out the facts for themselves.

Just my opinion.

Soho.

(and no, my name ain't Sid!!!!)

I find I agree with krb on this. Jon did not do this little speech in New Jersey and the fact that he did not continue it in Detroit to me is a good sign that I won't be subjected to it in AC and Philly, though without the commentary I wouldn't mind hearing Eve of Destruction. I was actually upset with Bruce, who I am a lifelong fan of for including 41 shots this tour. He played it right after Into the Fire and I thought it was just really inappropriate this time around though I supported his right to sing it in 2000. To me it felt like a slap in the face to the NYPD and kind of hypocritical considering he is making quite a profit from their 9/11 stories with The Rising and the tour. Bruce also has been talking somewhat about Iraq in a kind of vague manner and also about not surrendering our civil liberties, referring to Homeland Security, and then he broke into Born in the USA. That did not bother me nearly as much as the 41 Shots thing (which is really called American Skin, btw). Anyway, I prefer to go to rock concerts to escape reality- this ain't the sixties anymore. I think there are actually plenty of relevent messages in the Bounce songs about the current state of affairs in the world- Jon should let the music speak for itself and let us interpret it our way without a lecture.
