By the way, bands know how many album copies are illegally downloaded. I doubt they know YouTube rips or recorded streams but there is a way to track some it. I remember reading an article on a band who said "we sold X and X were downloaded illegally".

Not that it means anything anyway. I've downloaded things because I was too lazy to run downstairs to get the CD.

Between Pandora, Spotify, YouTube, etc you don't even need to download anything anymore. I think today's music sucks anyway and the bands that I do like, I just order their CDs "used like new" from Half or Amazon. I hate compressed music!!!! There are very few times that I'll run to a store anymore. I will for the new Bon Jovi album though!!!
