I post on both hetre and backstage and i do like this board better as the posts seem 2 be more interesting and important but some people think if ur gonna say the guys are hot u have 2 post on backstage which is just stupid, i and others should be allowed 2 say w/e we want about the guys looks, they are good looking guys and im not going 2 pretend there not , also on one other post i said that jons looks HELP the band be a sucsess and some of u got really pissy and offended i wosnt saying that that is why they sell record cos i kow its cos they are a great band and have great songs but seeing a good looking guy up front HELPS and anyone who say otherwise are lying 2 themselfs, phew..

well i for one totally agree with u. i actually feel like i have to censor myself when i begin to talk about their looks because i'm afraid someone will make a stupid comment about something as simple as the guys being attractive. when i first came here i said something about how when i first heard Bon Jovi, the tv was on, but i was in another room- i heard sweet guitar so i had to go see who the band was. i really enjoyed the music and now i'm a die hard fan. but then i mentioned that when i first saw them i thought Jon had a great smile, and suddenly i was being warned that real fans don't notice the guys' looks and if i do then i'm not a fan of the music. HELLO- i just said i was drawn to them by the guitar, yet if i hadn't been a new person here i would've been chewed up and spit out for saying such a thing about Jon

they are attractive- why is that so hard for ppl to deal with.

As far as I'm concerned, they r a music band - not a bunch of models.

yes u and i see them for the music as do MANY others but most girls...they only SEE jon (usually) and his looks, music doesnt seem to mean much to them, that is why the chart is MAINLY full of blue, westlife, justin timberlake...anyone that says im wrong must be mad cos it even makes sense to me tonight

the thing to remember is that if jon happened to be a fit female vocalist, the lads would all be the same. it's what makes the world go around. so no, it isn't much of a problem.

No, you're not wrong, but men do the same. Are you telling me you only like Norah Jones for her music? How many of you think Britney is gorgeous? Only because someone thinks that Jon or Richie (or the rest) are cute, doesn't mean that you can't appreciate the music. I will admit that I think Jon is cute, but that is not the reason why I like the BAND Bon Jovi, they are 2 seperate entities in my book, but hey, maybe that's just me. If the music was crap, I don't think I would spend hundreds of Euros just cos Jon has a cute arse!

Such ado about nothing- of course they are handsome men and of course that is part of the initial appeal for any healthy woman. But looks alone are not why any of us are here day after day talking about a band we love. Don't any of you guys think someone like, say, Shania Twain is attractive? But are her male fans not fans of her music? Or someone like Faith Hill? These are beautiful and talented women and I am sure that they appeal to men visually but if they are buying their CD's and attending concerts they must like their music too. I also think Bruce is still totally hot- does that mean I only like him as a sex object

I disagree with that. Look at Other Bands sometimes and you will see how "we girls" never get on anyone's case when they mention how a singer looks. Heck, if that were the case, Joey would have been crucified long ago. I think the reason people here get so bent by it, is the fact that they attribute that sort of talk to a Backstage mentality. And we know that is a bad word around here.

I am a proud member of Backstage, the fanclub and the board. I really get a little tired of this anti-Backstage mentality. Many Backstagers post here and many here who don't post there are also fan club members, even if they choose to post here instead. The fanclub board will never be an open forum because it is an official board- that is what is so nice about having this forum to come to as well. I have met so many great people by being a part of the Backstage fanclub and when Jon's mom steps down and if the rumors are true that the fanclub will go away to be replaced by American XS I know many of us will really miss it. I just hope the fanclub continues even when Mrs. B retires- American XS will never have the same family feel. Anyway, OT, but I think it is time to give Backstage bashing a rest.
