Default Why 'These days'???

hi!

we all know that 7800° Fahrenheit is a pretty dark album because of the lyrics. all of the band members had problems in their relations at that time.

but why became 'these days' such a dark album??? jon and richie were both happy and married! there was no need to write those really desperate and dark lyrics ('it's hard letting you go' e.g.)!!!
so what were the reasons for it??? what do you think

I think they said they were looking around at the world around them at the time and the songs were inspired from that. People they saw on the streets etc

also I think "hard letting you go" was written with Jons movie "moonlight and valentino" in mind.

I thank god that it was written no matter why. Its a brilliant album

I heard Jon say in an interview that they actually wrote TD to be a positive album, and they were shocked when they found out it wasn't...

Maybe it's like Keba wrote in Bongiovis that they were so sad because Alec had left

I'm gald you remembered that, Taija! Actually, I was just making all that stuff about Alec up. But hey, it kinda makes sense. The rest of the story was based on something I read about how they thought that These Days was a positive album and an article about what Alec thought of These Days.
